Fanuc to demonstrate cobots and automation technology at Westec 2019

August 7, 2019 by Anna

Fanuc America, supplier of robotics, CNCs and robomachines will demonstrate robotic and automation solutions for the aerospace, medical, industrial machinery and consumer goods industries at Westec 2019, 24-26 September in Long Beach, California, USA.

It will show the Fanuc CR-15iA collaborative robot, which uses iRVision to locate a part and then loads it into a chuck to simulate machining. The robot unloads the part and the cycle repeats.

Fanuc’s CR-7iA collaborative robot will demonstrate a variety of pre-programmed movements. Visitors will be able to use the hand-guidance mode, which allows them to instruct the robot to perform different movements and record paths.

There’s an app for that: Automating the moving of parts from warehouses to field service technicians

June 7, 2019 by David Edwards

By Travis Smith, founder and CTO, WithoutWire Inventory Sciences

A typical process to move parts from a warehouse to a field technician generates a 77 percent reduction in barcode scans using automated optimization

Field technicians are paid to do their job, not to study software manuals. Many field techs are under 40 and have spent their lives using Android and iOS apps. These solutions are easy to install; with a minimal learning curve, automating, tracking, and replenishing truck inventory in real-time is now possible.  [Read more…] about There’s an app for that: Automating the moving of parts from warehouses to field service technicians

Ubisense, a provider of enterprise location intelligence solutions, and Bosch Rexroth, specialists in drive and control technologies, have joined forces to launch a new system for locating and tracking objects in realtime.

Developed specifically for aerospace assembly lines, the solution combines Bosch Rexroth’s Nexo Cordless Nutrunner and Ubisense’s Smart Factory solutions to offer real-time tracking of tools (Tool Location) and tightening operations (Tool Control).

Ubisense’s readers detect the precise location of tagged Bosch Rexroth tools on the assembly lines at all times, avoiding tools being lost or misplaced with the associated disruption and need to repurchase.  [Read more…] about Ubisense and Bosch Rexroth launch real-time tracking solution for aerospace industry
