Lumotive and Axibo partner to bring lidar to cinematography automation

January 9, 2023 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Lumotive, the developer of Light Control Metasurface (LCM) beam steering chips enabling the next generation of 3D sensors, and Axibo, a cinema robotics company and the developer of autonomous camera motion control systems, have unveiled Axibo’s Precision eJib – a unique, designed-for-cinema, 6-axis robotic arm with 3D sensing capabilities made possible with Lumotive’s LCM beam steering technology.

The jointly-developed solution gives photographers and videographers unparalleled capabilities such as smart object targeting and tracking, enhanced image stabilization, and ground-breaking new autofocus features, to produce far crisper images and films combined with automated scene capture.

Available initially for professional-grade cameras, and under development for consumer-grade cameras, this revolutionary photography and cinematography automation solution takes advantage of Lumotive’s LCM beam steering chips that deliver best-in-class performance, range, and size in the 3D sensing industry. 5 Benefits of Using 3D Interior Design Models

August 12, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Assume your client is building a new house. At the moment, it consists of wooden slats and a frame in the ground. If the year is 2022, there will be supply chain constraints and long lead times for furnishings and interiors.

Getting started on interior design and ordering furniture, lighting, decor, accessories, appliances, during construction will keep your client ahead of the game and anticipate the timeline.

But how can you design a room without the room and only blueprints? The solution is 3D Interior Design. 3D Interior Design allows you to visualize a fully furnished and decorated room and illustrate what you want to achieve. [Read more…] about 5 Benefits of Using 3D Interior Design Models

SICK and Aeva partner to bring 4D LiDAR to industrial sensing applications

August 5, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Aeva, a leader in next-generation sensing and perception systems, and SICK announced a strategic multi-year collaboration to bring Aeva’s Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) 4D LiDAR to a variety of industrial sensing applications including long-range sensing, starting with Aeries II.

Dr Niels Syassen, member of the board responsible for technology and digitization at SICK, says: “We are pleased to partner with Aeva and work closely together to bring its FMCW technology to high performance industrial sensing applications.

“We are convinced that their unique approach to FMCW technology, which includes instant velocity detection and long-range performance, will provide new opportunities for us and our customers in a variety of industrial sensing applications where traditional time of flight LiDAR technologies are challenged.” [Read more…] about SICK and Aeva partner to bring 4D LiDAR to industrial sensing applications

Lidar sensor makers choose Nvidia Drive for development

January 29, 2021 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Baraja, Hesai, Innoviz, Magna and Ouster join Nvidia Drive developer ecosystem

When it comes to autonomous vehicle sensor innovation, it’s best to keep an open mind – and an open development platform, according to chipmaker Nvidia.

That’s why Nvidia Drive is the chosen platform on which the majority of these sensors run, says the company.

In addition to camera sensors, Nvidia has long recognized that lidar is a crucial component to an autonomous vehicle’s perception stack. By emitting invisible lasers at incredibly fast speeds, lidar sensors can paint a detailed 3D picture from the signals that bounce back instantaneously. The EV market continues to grow at an electrifying rate

July 22, 2020 by Polly Leave a Comment

It wasn’t all that long ago that we thought Doc Brown powering his DeLorean with banana peels and apple cores was the stuff of science fiction.

And while we haven’t quite gone the way of biofuel, the best electric cars on the market today show that the future is a lot closer than we thought.

We have already moved away from simple hybridization towards vehicles that run on electrons alone, but plug-and-play cars are just a stepping stone on the way to the future. [Read more…] about The EV market continues to grow at an electrifying rate
