Segula Technologies opens new offices in the Middle East

Segula Technologies, a global engineering group, is launching its Middle East business through establishing two offices to support its customers in the energy, aerospace, defence, rail, manufacturing, naval, and automotive sectors, covering the full scope of competencies from design to manufacturing engineering.

Segula’s new offices are located in Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and in Cairo, Egypt.

BlueBotics to showcase its robotics technology at LogiMAT after acquisition by Zapi

BlueBotics, a Zapi Group company specializing in vehicle automation, will stage a multi-brand automated vehicle demonstration in the Zapi Group/BlueBotics booth (#6B61 in hall 6).

This demo will include: two autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), two automated pallet trucks, and a larger forked automated guided vehicle (AGV) in simultaneous operation, all managed simultaneously by the company’s mission and fleet management software, ANT server.

Starship Technologies delivery robots clock 10 million km

Starship Technologies, a provider of autonomous delivery services, has reached what it says is “an industry first”, with the company’s robots having now passed the 10 million km mark (over 6 million miles) in terms of distance traveled around the world.

This comes as the company is marking five years of commercial delivery services.

Autonomous logistics startup Venti Technologies raises $28.8 million in Series A funding

Venti Technologies, a provider of autonomous logistics for global supply chain and industrial hubs, has secured $28.8 million in a Series A financing.

The financing round was led by LG Technology Ventures, the Silicon Valley-based venture capital arm of the LG Group, with participation from Safar Partners, UOB Venture Management, and existing investors Alpha JWC and LDV Partners.

Qualcomm releases ‘groundbreaking IoT and robotics’ platforms

Qualcomm Technologies has launched what it says are “the world’s first” integrated 5G IoT processors that are designed to support four major operating systems, in addition to two new robotics platforms, and an accelerator program for IoT ecosystem partners.

These new innovations will empower manufacturers participating in the rapidly expanding world of devices at the connected intelligent edge.

The need for connected, intelligent, and autonomous devices is growing rapidly, and it is expected to hit $116 billion by 2030 according to Precedence Research. Seoul Robotics establishes office at Curiosity Lab in Peachtree Corners

Peachtree Corners, a tiny US town which claims to be “one of the world’s first smart cities powered by real-world connected infrastructure and 5G”, has been chosen by Seoul Robotics as a new location for its company.

Seoul Robotics has established its United States office in Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners. The company’s presence in Curiosity Lab will fuel further development of its groundbreaking 3D perception platform, while providing the company with a real-world testing environment along Peachtree Corners’ city streets.

William Muller, vice president of business development for Seoul Robotics, says: “With our 3D smart infrastructure solutions already deployed in areas across the Southeast, establishing an office within Curiosity Lab was the logical next step as we continue to expand our US presence. Hannover Messe: Connectivity and climate neutrality

ACC picks Segula to help build three gigafactories in Europe

The European automotive market is rapidly electrifying, and the need for batteries to equip vehicles is increasing.

According to the European Commission, demand will increase 12-fold between 2018 and 2030.

Starship Technologies launches robot delivery service at North Carolina university

Starship Technologies, the world’s leading provider of autonomous delivery services, announced today that its robots have started on-demand food deliveries at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte).

Starship’s fleet of 30 autonomous, on-demand robots are now delivering from Wendy’s, Bojangles and Shake Smart and will add more campus eateries throughout March, with 10 onboard by the end of the month.

The school’s nearly 30,000 students and faculty can now use the Starship Food Delivery app (iOS and Android) to order food and drinks from campus retailers to be delivered anywhere on campus, within minutes.
