Rokae unveils robotic system for making knives and scissor blades

August 31, 2020 by Mai Tao

Rokae has unveiled a robotic system for making knives, scissor blades and other metallic objects with sharp edges.

The company has partnered with Zhang Xiao Quan, a 400-year-old manufacturer of cutting tools, to implement a robotic system in place of what would be a very time-consuming process for a human worker.

In a typical knife manufacturing facility, huge rolls of steel arrive and are cut into blanks, which are then shaped using presses, and then sharpened. [Read more…] about Rokae unveils robotic system for making knives and scissor blades

Quality control automation with the help of technology

August 25, 2020 by Polly

Quality control inspection is one of the most crucial parts of the manufacturing process for most of the companies and industries. Especially if a small error in the production can result in a massive loss for the company, it becomes imperative to invest in better quality control systems.

A non-automated quality control system requires a large human force that results in increased costs and is still not entirely reliable. On the other hand, automated quality control can help to grow your business by cutting on manual inspection costs.

Read on to know more about the automated quality inspection and how your firm can benefit from its installation. [Read more…] about Quality control automation with the help of technology

The Robots Are Here to Stay: How Automation is Affecting Global Business

August 10, 2020 by Polly

Robots are shaking up different aspects of the modern business world. Deloitte’s 3rd Annual Robotics Survey suggested that the implementation of robotic process automation (RPA) in organisations is in the rise.

Robotic Process Automation? What Is It?

Simply known simply as RPA, it is the use of robotics systems on computers or robots to support the processing of data, and thereby, making such data processing more effective.

RPA also comes with programs that prevent the need for human hands or humans to perform rule-based tasks that are mostly repetitive. Thus, RPA also leads to very time-efficient processes. [Read more…] about The Robots Are Here to Stay: How Automation is Affecting Global Business

Mighty Buildings aims to automate 80 percent of construction process

August 7, 2020 by David Edwards

Mighty Buildings, a startup providing automated solutions for modern home building, has launched out of stealth after graduating from Y Combinator in winter 2018 and raising a total of $30 million from Khosla Ventures, Y Combinator, SV Angel, CoreVC, and others.

The company says it uses a combination of 3D printing and prefabrication techniques to create a production-as-a-service platform that will “automate up to 80 percent of the building process”.

Mighty Buildings says it has a unique approach that is both project- and design-agnostic, and can create “everything from small complex components to panels to full-size volumetric modules”. [Read more…] about Mighty Buildings aims to automate 80 percent of construction process

2 Tools to Help Automate Your Sales Process

July 31, 2020 by Polly

Back in the day, sales representatives used to spend all day in the field, exploring leads, looking for potential clients and, well, selling.

Now, a sales rep spends less time in the field and more time completing tedious tasks and non-sales activities.

Further on, research suggests that now, sales reps only spend one-third of their day actually making sales, while the other two-thirds are spent on manual tasks such as writing emails, scheduling meetings, prospecting leads and entering data into the computer. Siasun installs robotic system for inspection and categorization of rails

July 27, 2020 by Mai Tao

Siasun has installed a robotic system for the inspection and categorization of rail and beam material manufactured at an Anshan Iron and Steel facility.

The trial robotic system integrates eight industrial robotic arms which are equipped with sensing technology, mechanical control, artificial intelligence, and bionics.

Siasun says the robots have high accuracy, reliability and consistency, and “can fully cope with the harsh and dangerous in the steel production process”. [Read more…] about Siasun installs robotic system for inspection and categorization of rails

Robotic surgery: Catheter navigation proving to be the fastest growing sector

July 10, 2020 by David Edwards

IDTechEx reports that the robotic surgery market will reach over $12 billion by 2030. Within this industry, catheter navigation is an emerging, but lesser known application, that is rapidly gaining traction.

IDTechEx’s findings are detailed in the recently published report Innovations in Robotic Surgery 2020-2030: Technologies, Players & Markets.

Catheters are widely used to conduct an intervention within the blood vessels or airways. Traditional catheter ablation procedures have a success rate of approximately 60 percent and can be very long – sometimes several hours.
