HR Tech Entrepreneur Gergo Vari on AI, Automation, and the Future of Jobs

April 13, 2023 by Mark Allinson

By Gergo Vari, founder and CEO of Lensa

Automation has affected all sectors of activity. And recruitment is no exception.

In today’s labor market, where attracting and keeping top talent is more challenging than ever before, companies that implement AI and automation into their recruitment process stand to gain a significant edge over their competitors.

I founded the AI-powered online jobs portal Lensa in 2016 with the conviction that technology such as AI, machine learning, and automation could be used to help match job seekers and companies. And the results have surpassed even our (admittedly) lofty expectations. [Read more…] about HR Tech Entrepreneur Gergo Vari on AI, Automation, and the Future of Jobs

Formic launches industry’s ‘first turnkey palletizer’

October 27, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Formic, a provider of robotic technologies on a pay-as-you-go basis, has released its SL20 Palletizer – the inaugural product in a new catalog of certified, off-the-shelf, robotics-as-a-service solutions available at a “low cost per hour”.

Built by Sourcelink Solutions, Formic says its new offering further underlines its “commitment to removing the barriers to automation” so that small to mid-sized businesses can onboard the technology and thrive amid today’s challenges.

Buying a robot is largely untenable for the majority of manufacturers due to the risk, complexity, upfront capital, and expertise required. [Read more…] about Formic launches industry’s ‘first turnkey palletizer’

Over 500 exhibitors from 44 countries were present at the event, premiering their latest innovations. Organisers say the resounding message from the event was one of “a positive outcome and an inspiring vision” of the industry’s future across the spectrum of applications sectors.

The industry continued to evolve dramatically during the pandemic, and expectations were high as players from across the industry worldwide came together for the first time since 2017. Exhibitors said their expectations were exceeded, citing the high quality of the visitors present, converging on INDEX to conclude new business projects. August 20, 2020 by David Edwards

German citizens are to be given €1,200 a month, or about $1,400, for doing nothing in an experiment to evaluate the effects of a concept called “universal basic income”.

Universal Basic Income, or UBI, is an idea that has been around for many years, and has many supporters and advocacy groups around the world, but was never really taken seriously in the past.

The notion of the government giving everyone in society a fixed regular amount of money whether they work or not sounds like a communist plot to take over the world. [Read more…] about German citizens to be given €1,200 a month for doing nothing
