Nauticus Robotics launch new generation of its Aquanauts

April 16, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Nauticus Robotics, a developer of autonomous robots using artificial intelligence for data collection and intervention services for the ocean industries, has launched the first of three second-generation Aquanauts, dubbed the “Mark 2” (MK2).

The Aquanauts will now start commissioning exercises. Following commissioning, Nauticus expects to send the initial Aquanaut MK2 units to the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico in the coming months to support customer initiatives in those regions.

The Aquanaut MK2 is a fully electric, untethered and autonomous subsea robot that is controlled through acoustic communication networking and underpinned by Nauticus’ proprietary software suite, toolKITT. The artificial intelligence-based software suite allows for robotic controls, user interfaces, sensor integration, simulation, data analysis, and communication frameworks purpose-built to enable subsea work. ExRobotics develops ‘new and improved’ version of its inspection robot

April 8, 2023 by Mark Allinson

ExRobotics has developed a “new and improved” version of its ATEX-certified inspection robot, together with the help of Shell Pernis and DOW Terneuzen.

ExRobotics says “many companies” have adopted this way of working, and as a result, there are now 30 of its robots operating worldwide on a daily basis.

Why do industrial companies send employees into potentially hazardous environments (ATEX Zone 1 environments) when robots could do some of the work? Several studies have shown that inspection of hazardous environments by robots is the solution to preventing human injury during inspection. Robots perform inspections more accurately, more productively and more cost-effectively than humans. [Read more…] about ExRobotics develops ‘new and improved’ version of its inspection robot

New Scale Robotics enhances its automated gauging system through robotic thread verification

April 6, 2023 by David Edwards

Thread verification is the latest enhancement to New Scale Robotics’ Q-Span Automated Gauging System, a “do-it-yourself” robotic automation system for quality teams in high-mix, small-batch manufacturing.

The Q-Span Gauging System automates gauging processes by combining existing manual gauges with a collaborative robot, grippers for part handling, easy-to-use metrology and robot control software, and automated data collection.

The robot arm loads parts into a fixture and activates the thread gauge to verify or chase threaded holes or external threads. [Read more…] about New Scale Robotics enhances its automated gauging system through robotic thread verification

Ransomware file recovery is a delicate process that requires knowledge, experience, and expertise, as one wrong move can result in permanently corrupted data that is impossible to restore.

If you or your organization has fallen victim to a ransomware attack, it is important to seek the help of a professional to ensure that your data is recovered in the most effective and safe manner possible.

One of the first steps in the ransomware file recovery process is to identify the type of ransomware that has infected the system. Different types of ransomware have different encryption methods and may require different approaches to recovery. [Read more…] about The fastest way to recover from ransomware
