Configuration of SMS and email notifications to monitor your device

April 29, 2023 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Monitoring your device is a critical aspect of ensuring its proper functioning. When a device goes down, it can result in downtime, loss of data, or even more significant issues.

Therefore, it is essential to configure SMS and email notifications to monitor your device’s status.

In this article, we will discuss how to configure SMS and email notifications to monitor your device using Splynx, a powerful software solution for Internet Service Providers (ISPs). [Read more…] about Configuration of SMS and email notifications to monitor your device

Doosan robot central to coffee machine deal with Everysys

April 24, 2023 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Doosan Robotics, a manufacturer of industrial and collaborative robotics, has announced an exclusive partnership with Everysys, a Swiss manufacturer of commercial coffee machines.

The Eversys Cameo coffee machine will now be featured in “Dr Presso”, Doosan’s robot café module, which could be described as a robotic work cell.

Dr Presso can prepare 15 types of hot and cold coffee, now with the same in-cup quality found in specialized franchises. Doosan says Dr Presso is “the only robot on the market that can close the caps on coffee cups”. [Read more…] about Doosan robot central to coffee machine deal with Everysys

ExRobotics develops ‘new and improved’ version of its inspection robot

April 8, 2023 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

ExRobotics has developed a “new and improved” version of its ATEX-certified inspection robot, together with the help of Shell Pernis and DOW Terneuzen.

ExRobotics says “many companies” have adopted this way of working, and as a result, there are now 30 of its robots operating worldwide on a daily basis.

Why do industrial companies send employees into potentially hazardous environments (ATEX Zone 1 environments) when robots could do some of the work? Several studies have shown that inspection of hazardous environments by robots is the solution to preventing human injury during inspection. Robots perform inspections more accurately, more productively and more cost-effectively than humans. [Read more…] about ExRobotics develops ‘new and improved’ version of its inspection robot

Zorabots partners with QSS to showcase humanoid robot and plans to establish robotics joint venture in Saudi Arabia

February 16, 2023 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

Robotics and software company Zorabots have started talks to create joint venture with Saudi tech company QSS. The news comes after the two companies jointly presented what is believed to be Saudia Arabia’s first domestically created humanoid robot, called “Sara” (main picture and below).

Sara is being presented at the renowned tech event LEAP, being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the sophisticated humanoid has been declared by relevant authorities as a “Saudi tech jewel”.

The robot was developed by tech company QSS with the support of Zorabots. Due to the “overwhelming success” of Sara, Zorabots and QSS signed an agreement for further cooperation. Extensive talks were started for the establishment of a Belgian-Saudi joint venture. Human-like hands for robots move one step closer with Italian scientist’s invention

July 28, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

An Italian scientist has invented a robotic end effector that could bring the goal of robots having human-like hands one step closer.

Corrado De Pascali and his colleagues on the Italian Institute of Technology have unveiled an end effector which uses tiny, 8-gram actuators to power many different joints in the complex component.

According to report in New Scientist and several other outlets, the actuators – although small – can actually lift “1,000 times their own weight”. [Read more…] about Human-like hands for robots move one step closer with Italian scientist’s invention

Bot Hacks: The Next Frontier

January 10, 2022 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

The age of robots and artificial intelligence is in its early stages – robots are here to stay for a long time and generations to come.

For decades, robots have played a significant role in sci-fi movies and our imaginations in tandem.

Today, some household appliances such as automated vacuums are robotic. Such popular robotic appliances coupled with IoT functionality are very promising. [Read more…] about Bot Hacks: The Next Frontier

What Happens When Cybercriminals Target Industrial Robots?

February 4, 2021 by Polly Leave a Comment

Historically, robots were just dumb pieces of programmable machinery that did the same task over and over again. They had virtually no ability to sense their environment. And they certainly couldn’t make decisions for themselves.

With the advent of machine learning and smart systems, that’s all changing. Now designers are imbuing their mechanical appendages with all manner of intelligence. And it’s only getting better.

For economists, these trends are extremely exciting. We could be looking at a future where robots do the vast majority of manual jobs, freeing up labour for other tasks, boosting productivity like nothing else in human history. AOT obtains CE certification for ‘world’s first human-approved contact-free laser cutting of bones with a robot’

January 18, 2021 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Swiss medical technology company AOT has obtained CE certification for what it says is the “world’s first human-approved contact-free laser cutting of bones with a robot”.

The patented Cold Ablation Robot-guided Laser Osteotome system – CARLO for short – is said to cut bones precisely and contact-free with a specialized laser using a robot.

The laser beam vaporizes the water inside the bone substrate within milliseconds, so the bone will be removed precisely in layers, leaving no residue, as deep as desired or until it is severed.
