Warehouse Automation Software Bottlenecks: Identify and Eliminate Performance Constraints

December 11, 2025 by David Edwards

Warehouse automation software coordinates thousands of transactions, robot actions, and inventory updates. During peak periods, hidden constraints can slow order processing, cause sync delays, or disrupt fulfillment. These issues stem from technical design, not operations, so early detection is essential.  [Read more…] about Warehouse Automation Software Bottlenecks: Identify and Eliminate Performance Constraints

Saddle Creek brings in Robust.AI’s Carter robots to automate tote delivery and speed up warehouse operations

November 14, 2025 by David Edwards

Robust.AI, a provider of AI-driven warehouse automation, has announced a partnership with Saddle Creek Logistics Services, an omnichannel supply chain solutions company, to deploy Robust.AI’s flagship collaborative robotics platform, Carter, in Saddle Creek’s Charlotte, North Carolina warehouse.

Saddle Creek deployed Carter in its order fulfillment operation for a beauty client. It helps to automate and optimize tote delivery operations between multiple processing and labeling lines and more than 20 designated drop-off points.

In this capacity, Carter functions as a flexible, non-integrated “virtual conveyor” that streamlines material flow without requiring fixed infrastructure. In addition, Robust.AI customized Carter for Saddle Creek, increasing payload capacity to allow for more items to be picked, put, and moved. ISD launches high-density robotic storage system to tackle warehouse space and labor pressures

October 30, 2025 by Sam Francis

ISD – Integrated Systems Design – has unveiled a new cube-based automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) designed to help warehouses increase capacity and throughput as operators face rising real-estate costs, labor shortages, and growing e-commerce demands.

The URBX robotic system stores inventory in a dense cube formation, eliminating the aisles required for conventional crane- or lift-based ASRS.

ISD says the system can store three to four times more inventory in the same footprint as traditional racking, reaching heights of up to 125 feet to use vertical space that typically goes unused.

Robots operate inside the cube structure, moving horizontally and vertically without dedicated travel lanes. Each robot can handle loads of up to 100 pounds and complete up to 500 case or tote presentations per hour – equivalent to 1,000 combined storage and retrieval cycles. Multiple robots can operate at once, allowing throughput to scale with demand. [Read more…] about ISD launches high-density robotic storage system to tackle warehouse space and labor pressures
