Productive Robotics launches ‘first full line’ of next-generation teachable collaborative robots

Productive Robotics is unveiling its full line of next-generation teachable collaborative robots at the Automate Show, which started today in Chicago.

The Santa Barbara, California-based cobot designer and manufacturer added an enhanced human sense of vision to its teach-and-learn platform, providing customers with a unique offering not currently available in the market.

Epson launches new ‘ultra low cost’ robot at Automate Show

Epson Robots has launched a new “ultra-low-cost robot” at the Automate Show, which started today in Chicago, USA.

The new VT6L All-in-One 6-Axis robot is a new “entry-level” machine offering to the award-winning 6-Axis line up.

OnRobot wins two prestigious awards for its ‘Gecko Gripper’

OnRobot, a maker of end-of-arm tooling for collaborative robots, is celebrating two prestigious wins as the company’s “lizard-inspired” Gecko Gripper was awarded silver at Edison Awards Gala held Thursday, April 4, 2019, in New York City.

The win comes hot on the heels of the Gecko Gripper winning the Robotics Award at the Hannover Messe in Germany two days earlier.

Flexiv launches new industrial robot at Hannover Messe

A startup company called Flexiv, founded in 2016 by a team from Stanford University,  has launched the third generation of its industrial robot at this year’s Hannover Messe event, in Germany. (See video below.)

Flexiv says that its new robot, called “Rizon”, is the “world’s first adaptive robot combining direct force control with advanced artificial intelligence”, although it’s not clear if it is a collaborative robot because the company itself has not used that word.

Robotic end of arm tools sales set to increase by 5 percent to $2 billion in 2019, says report

Global sales of robotic end of arm tools are set to surpass $2 billion in 2019, up from $1.9 billion in 2018, according to a report by Fact.mr. 

This growth in sales can be attributed to the ever-evolving demand of industrial ecosystems for high productivity via industrial robotics.

Epson to launch new robotic solutions at Automate

Epson Robots will be showcasing its award-winning line of SCARA and 6-axis robots at Automate, as well as introduce three new robotics solutions.

In addition, the company will lead a discussion for users new to factory automation.

Universal Robots launches global network of training centers

Universal Robots has launched a global network of training centers. The collaborative robot-maker says it aims to lower automation barriers with robotic programming classes for beginners and advanced users.

The initiative is part of the company’s “mission to make the advantages of collaborative robotics widely accessible”, says Universal Robots.

30 exhibitors partner with Universal Robots at Automate and ProMat

The characteristic light-blue jointed collaborative robot arms from Universal Robots (UR) will be spotted hard at work throughout Automate and ProMat 2019 in Chicago April 8 – 11.

More than 30 UR cobot exhibitors will demonstrate a total of 80+ collaborative robot applications: a testament to the wide range of tasks and solutions now automated by UR.

The cobots on display will handle vision-guided product inspection, pick parts off conveyors, ride on top of mobile robots while performing machine tending, perform live robotic sorting and induction into put walls and pouches, add 7th axis capabilities, hand giveaways to attendees, play golf on a putting green, and much more.

Universal Robots go to work making oil burner parts

Fluidics Instruments, a Dutch manufacturer of oil burner components, has taken collaborative robot deployment to the next level with seven UR3 cobots working in tandem on an assembly line producing 1,000 oil nozzles per hour.

The company has additional Universal Robots cobots on mobile platforms ready to address ever-changing tasks and has also developed a cobot-powered screw driving application.

With a total fleet of twelve cobots, Fluidics Instruments is constantly increasing production and sales despite the shortage of skilled workers.
