Robots made by Starship Technologies have expanded into central Milton Keynes, UK and are delivering lunch to 180,000 workers.

Customers in central Milton Keynes will have access to robot delivery for the first time from some of the town’s most popular brands, says the company.

Parrot and Survae partner to develop drone imagery with interactive mapping

Parrot, a drone manufacturer, and Survae, a software platform for managing aerial and ground-based imagery, have agreed a partnership through Parrot’s SDK program to combine Parrot’s ANAFI and ANAFI Thermal hardware and Survae’s software for professional drone use.

Parrot’s ANAFI and ANAFI Thermal drones offer an ultra-compact tool for professionals, helping them gain new vantage points to make informed decisions using the drone’s aerial insights.

In addition to its built-in 4K HDR camera, ANAFI Thermal also integrates a FLIR thermal sensor – allowing working professionals to easily capture thermal and visual readings for faster response times, along with higher precision and efficiency. OMP is an alliance founded in 2019 to help manufacturing companies accelerate innovation at scale through cross-industry collaboration, knowledge and data sharing as well as access to new technologies.

IDS showcases its industrial cameras with AI built in

Industrial camera specialist Imaging Development Systems is showcasing its machine vision technology, saying companies can keep their competitive edge with the systems because they use artificial intelligence.

Pallet Alliance expands IoT-enabled wooden pallet tracking capability

Pallet Alliance, a developer of pallet management programs for multi-site manufacturing companies, has added the LoRa devices and the LoRaWAN connectivity protocol to its internet of things-enabled IntelliPallet platform.

Pallet Aliiance describes the protocol as “efficient, flexible, and economical”, and says its IntelliPallet platform is the industry’s first supply chain managed service to be integrated into wooden pallets.

The new capability is the result of Pallet Alliance’s collaboration with Semtech, a supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, and Viaanix, an IoT integration firm. Robotic last-mile deliveries are forecast to generate almost $50 billion in revenue by 2030, according to a new report by Lux Research.

Automated parcel delivery technologies, such as small mobile delivery robots, are growing due to the rise in consumer demand for faster deliveries.

OnRobot launches new gripper for handling cylindrical objects

OnRobot, the makers of robotics tools for collaborative applications, has released a compact, large-stroke three-finger gripper.

OnRobot says its 3FG15 makes previously hard-to-automate precision handling of cylindrical parts “easy to program and deploy, and provides flexibility for a wide range of part sizes”.

Misty Robotics launches two new Misty II models

Misty Robotics, the creators of the Misty II platform robot, have launched two additional Misty II models.

Customers can now choose between three models (Misty II Basic Edition, Misty II Standard Edition, and Misty II Enhanced Edition) based on the robot capabilities required for their given use case and budget.
