Lumos Robotics tops global benchmark test for zero-shot embodied AI

July 7, 2026 by Sam Francis

Lumos Robotics says its Prime R0 industrial embodied AI model has achieved the highest overall score on the latest MolmoSpaces leaderboard, outperforming larger models from competitors including Nvidia and research teams from the United States.

The Chinese robotics company said its 2.8-billion-parameter model ranked first across both single-arm fine manipulation and dual-arm collaboration tasks in the benchmark, which measures zero-shot embodied AI performance in previously unseen environments.

According to Lumos, Prime R0 surpassed models including Nvidia’s 16-billion-parameter Cosmos model as well as entries from researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Princeton University, despite using less than one-sixth as many parameters. Waabi says its AI driver transferred to Volvo autonomous truck without retraining

July 7, 2026 by Sam Francis

Waabi says it has demonstrated what it describes as a major advance in autonomous driving by transferring its AI-powered virtual driver from one autonomous truck platform to another without requiring additional training, engineering or new data.

The company says its Waabi Driver software was integrated with the Volvo VNL Autonomous truck, developed in partnership with Volvo Autonomous Solutions, and was able to operate autonomously on highways and complex surface streets from its first deployment.

According to Waabi, the system achieved what is known as “zero-shot” generalization, meaning the AI driver transferred to an entirely different vehicle platform without requiring new real-world data, simulation data or fine-tuning. Geekplus Takes Fifth RBR50 Innovation Award With AI-Powered Picking Station

May 20, 2026 by Sam Francis

The warehouse robotics firm’s latest win recognises a zero-shot learning system deployed at a Schneider Electric facility in Shanghai

Beijing-headquartered Geekplus (HKEX: 2590.HK) has won the 2026 RBR50 Innovation Award for its Robot Arm Picking Station, an intelligent system that automates item picking, which is widely regarded as the last major bottleneck in warehouse automation.

The award, presented annually by The Robot Report at the Robotics Summit & Expo, recognises the 50 most innovative companies in global robotics. It is the fifth time Geekplus has appeared on the list, placing it alongside ABB, Amazon, Boston Dynamics and Nvidia among repeat honourees. Galbot raises $151 million to scale embodied AI humanoid robots, partners with Bosch investment arm

July 3, 2025 by Sam Francis

Chinese robotics startup Galaxy General Robot Co. – also known as Galbot – has raised $151 million in a funding round led by battery giant CATL and Puquan Capital, bringing its total investment to more than $330 million since its founding in 2023.

The company also announced a strategic joint venture with Boyuan Capital, the investment arm of Bosch Group, to accelerate the global commercialization of embodied AI robots.

Founded by Professor He Wang of Peking University – a Stanford-trained scientist – Galbot specializes in embodied artificial intelligence, which enables robots to perceive and interact with the physical world in a more human-like manner. The company’s technology has applications in retail, automotive, and industrial sectors.
