Why Artificial Intelligence is Digital Marketing’s Future

February 1, 2023 by Mark Allinson

When it comes to business, marketing is the area where many experts widely predict that enormous change will occur due to artificial intelligence.

Moreover, beyond sales, studies have found this single function where the technology is likely to have the most impact financially.

What this means is that marketers who aren’t leveraging the power of AI are likely to miss out on all of the transformative advantages it offers. For this reason, it’s considered to be digital marketing’s future. [Read more…] about Why Artificial Intelligence is Digital Marketing’s Future

Benefits of Induction Hardening

November 11, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Case hardening process used to increase wear resistance, surface hardness and fatigue life through creation of a hardened surface layer while maintaining an unaffected core microstructure.

Induction hardening is used to increase the mechanical properties of ferrous components in a specific area. Typical applications are powertrain, suspension, engine components and stampings.

Induction hardening is excellent at repairing warranty claims / field failures. The primary benefits are improvements in strength, fatigue and wear resistance in a localised area without having to redesign the component. [Read more…] about Benefits of Induction Hardening

Automation and the Fashion Industry: A Quiet Revolution

June 8, 2021 by Mark Allinson

Many believe that we have recently entered the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is characterized by new modes of design, production and marketing. Being one of the world’s largest and most innovative industries, fashion is at the center stage of this shake-up.

This is not surprising, since fashion is big business. In the UK, for example, the fashion industry is valued at £26 billion, making it the country’s biggest creative industry.

From algorithms that detect what we will be wearing next season to targeted pricing, here are just a few ways automation technology is transforming the fashion industry. [Read more…] about Automation and the Fashion Industry: A Quiet Revolution

Celanese suggests replacing metal parts in robots with polymers

April 9, 2021 by David Edwards

Choosing materials is one of the most important decisions when designing and building a machine such as a robot, particularly one that moves around, like an autonomous warehouse robot or an automated guided vehicle.

Most of the machines this website features in its articles and advertising use metals for the vast majority of their components. Even the outer casing on most industrial robots tends to be a metal such as iron or steel.

However, according to an expert at Celanese, one of the largest materials companies in the world, the vast majority of components and parts that are currently made out of metal can actually be replaced with polymers or thermoplastics. SICK launches ‘ready-made, very versatile’ quality control system

December 15, 2020 by Elaine

SICK’s newly-developed MQCS (Modular Quality Control System) is an “off the shelf”, multifunctional machine vision system, and is sold as a ready-to-use package of hardware and pre-written software. Suitable for code reading, 2D or 3D inspection duties, the MQCS reduces cost and development time needed to set up automated quality inspection and logistics applications.

Originally, developed as a solution for non-contact 3D inspection of chocolate moulds in the confectionery industry, the MQCS soon demonstrated its versatility to be adapted for other applications such as “right product/right packaging” code matching, counting and aggregation of varied packages, monitoring the cycle life of materials handling equipment, and other 3D inspection and measurement tasks. Handling large, heavy and bulky objects with Morello equipment

February 14, 2020 by Polly

Large construction and engineering projects almost always feature particular requirements in transportation and handling of big, heavy and often awkwardly shaped objects.

Most people are used to seeing trucks and cranes on the roads and on work sites. But when it comes to handling materials inside, for example, warehouses or other confined spaces, more specialized vehicles are often required.

Modern tendencies in industrial material handling and on-site logistics require customization of these vehicles for a specific client or purpose and there are very few companies in the world that can provide such a service. Morello Giovanni is one of those companies. [Read more…] about Handling large, heavy and bulky objects with Morello equipment
