The Dark Side of Bad SaaS Design

November 28, 2024 by Mark Allinson

The development of digital technologies has radically changed approaches to business process organization. Cloud solutions and software as a service (SaaS) have become integral parts of the working ecosystems of companies of various sizes and profiles.

Interface quality is becoming a key factor of product success in the context of fierce competition and ever-increasing user expectations. Bad SaaS design can become a critical barrier between user and functionality, turning even the most innovative solutions into a source of constant stress and loss of productivity.

User experience determines a product’s usability and overall perceived value. The slightest UX miscalculations can instantly reduce user loyalty and lead to customer churn.

Getting your warehouse holiday-ready: How technology can help you ride the tide during the busiest time of the year

December 19, 2022 by Mark Allinson

By Pieter Feenstra is the CEO of Addverb Technologies’ EMEA region

The holiday season is right around the corner and hype is in the air. With customers in their deal-hunting mode getting ready to score the best deals, and businesses offering competitive discounts for limited periods to trigger a sense of urgency, it sure is the busiest time of the year.

Customers are starting their holiday shopping earlier than usual this year to spread their spending across more paychecks to minimise financial strain.

This also means that those who facilitate the smooth running of operations during this peak season are under considerable pressure to meet growing demands, largely propelled by e-commerce sales. Ranpak launches ‘completely automated packaging solution’ in North America

August 13, 2021 by David Edwards

Ranpak, a provider of paper-based packaging solutions for e-commerce and industrial supply chains, has launched its AutoFill solution in North America.

AutoFill is described as a “next-generation, fully automated end-of-line packaging solution that enhances throughput, reduces labor costs, and ensures the optimal amount of void fill in each package”.

Ranpak’s proprietary solution uses smart sensors to scan the package, computing the box size and the volume of objects inside, and then dispenses the optimal amount of paper needed to protect items during shipping. B&R software better utilises the potential of robots

April 30, 2019 by Anna

B&R Automation has added new functions to its mapp Motion software package. It is now possible to represent the structure of a complex machine intuitively in the configuration.

The various subsystems of a machine can be linked together. The movements of robots can be easily synchronised with gantry systems or workpiece tables with no additional programming.

The “Frame hierarchy” function can be used to represent the actual structure of a machine. Coordinate systems can be positioned at key points, such as the tool mounting flange.
