Septentrio launches first-of-a-kind GPS/GNSS receiver for mobile robots

June 22, 2020 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Septentrio has launched whaat is says is a “first-of-a-kind” GPS/GNSS receiver offering always-on sub-decimeter accuracy without the need for additional correction service subscriptions.

The high-precision GNSS positioning solutions specialist says its AsteRx-m2 Sx OEM board represents a novel approach to high-accuracy positioning.

The Global Navigation Satellite System – GNSS – includes the American GPS, European Galileo, Russian GLONASS, Chinese BeiDou, Japan’s QZSS and India’s NavIC. These satellite constellations broadcast positioning information to receivers which use it to calculate their absolute position. Aceinna claims its new $150 navigation chip rivals $10,000 alternatives

April 10, 2020 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Aceinna has launched a $150 high precision navigation chip for autonomous vehicles that it claims rivals the performance of $10,000 systems.

The new Aceinna OpenRTK module is said to be “highly accurate, extremely reliable, smaller, easier to integrate, and far less expensive”.

Aceinna says its OpenRTK330L is the only solution on the market to integrate a triple-band RTK/GNSS receiver and a triple-redundant inertial sensor enhancing the safety of autonomous systems. [Read more…] about Aceinna claims its new $150 navigation chip rivals $10,000 alternatives

Aceinna launches ‘smallest’ high-precision localization tech

January 8, 2020 by Sam Francis Leave a Comment

Automotive electronics company Aceinna has launched the new OpenRTK330L, which it describes as a “low cost, state-of-the-art, high-performance” triple-band RTK/GNSS receiver with built-in triple redundant inertial sensors.

Designed to replace the expensive and bulky precision RTK/INS systems used in today’s autonomous systems, this compact navigation solution meets the challenging performance, reliability and cost requirements of the automotive market along with the needs of robot, drone, construction and agriculture systems.

Mike Horton, CTO of Aceinna, says: “The combination of a triple-band GNSS receiver and a high-precision IMU has enabled us to make a remarkably accurate, small, reliable and cost-effective GNSS/INS solution. [Read more…] about Aceinna launches ‘smallest’ high-precision localization tech
