Blueprint Lab secures Australian Government contract to develop advanced robotic clearance diver technology

The Australian government has made a $19 million investment in multiple companies for technology protecting Australian Defence Force members.

As part of this, Blueprint Lab has been awarded $1.04 million to develop remote operation systems for underwater expeditions as part of this investment.

Verizon Robotics to showcase its aerial and ground robotics expertise at AUVSI

Verizon Robotics will be front and center at this year’s AUVSI XPONENTIAL, showcasing its leadership in air and ground robotics.

Inside the booth (number 2331), Verizon Robotics will be hosting various demonstrations, expert speakers and meetings with robotics and device manufacturers, as well as innovative enterprises looking to integrate air or ground robotics into their operations.

Saintonge becomes first hospital in France to install the Dexter surgical robot

Saintonge says it has become the first hospital in France to install the Dexter surgical robot, which was developed by Distalmotion, a Swiss company.

With its new Dexter system Saintonge Hospital says it is pioneering a new approach to best-in-class minimally invasive care called “on-demand robotics”.

Veo Robotics selects Gray Solutions as integrator partner

Veo Robotics, the industrial automation company that created FreeMove, a 3D safeguarding system for industrial robots, has agreed a partnership with Gray Solutions, an automation services provider for the food and beverage sector.

This partnership will enable Gray Solutions to include Veo’s safety-certified flagship product as part of collaborative palletizing solutions for the CPG industry.

Verizon Robotics selects Pendleton Range to advance robotics proofs of concept

Verizon Robotics is advancing its testing and proof-of-concept capabilities at Pendleton Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Range, a leading FAA-designated test range that offers diverse testing environments for drones and ground robotics.

Verizon Robotics will expand its operations, and base its advanced air R&D, drone partner and long range robotics at the Pendleton Range.

This includes training Pendleton Range staff to control a rapid-response command mobile unit vehicle, capable of deploying mission-critical communications, applications and advanced computing solutions that can address robotics use-cases in the air and on the ground. Pony.ai becomes ‘first’ autonomous driving company to receive taxi license in China

Pony.ai, an autonomous driving technology company, claims it has become the “first and only autonomous driving company to obtain a taxi license in China”.

Pony.ai was awarded a permit to operate 100 autonomous vehicles as traditional taxis in Nansha, Guangzhou.

In May, Pony.ai will start charging fares in the entire 800 square kilometers of Nansha with 100 robotaxis and intends to gradually expand the scale and scope of service to other areas of Guangzhou to benefit more residents. Startup uses ‘industrial origami’ technique to build electric motorbikes

Swedish technology and design startup STILRIDE is to produce sustainable electric motorcycles and scooters using a groundbreaking manufacturing process dubbed “industrial origami”.

The trailblazing technique involves robots which are able to fold single sheets of recyclable steel into intricate, lightweight and durable new structures – significantly reducing the environmental impact of production.
