Robotics challenge: ExxonMobil extends deadline for $60,000 competition

ExxonMobil is offering $60,000 in a robotics challenge designed to find new innovations in the field of energy. 

The company has extended its deadline for submissions to May 13th, 2019.

The aim of the challenge is to develop solutions for “pain points and technology gaps” in the natural resources industry.

The Robotics Reverse Pitch Challenge, organized by BBL Ventures, is inviting submissions from local and international businesses as well as educational institutions.

Prospective entrepreneurs are also invited to enter the competition.

Segway Robotics raises more than $1 million on Indiegogo for new vehicle

Segway Robotics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Segway-Ninebot Group, concluded what it says was a “successful” Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign this week, having raised $1.1 million in 50 days from 952 backers.

The initial goal of $100,000 was achieved less than 33 minutes after Segway Robotics started its crowdfunding campaign for Loomo, a smart machine that toggles between a mini personal transporter and mobile robot sidekick.

Shenyang city looking to attract top talent with ‘massive subsidies’ for starting business

Shenyang, a city in northeastern China, is opening its arms wider to talents both at home and abroad.

The local government Communist Chinese municipality says it is looking attract “top talent with massive subsidies”.

Automotive industry could gain $160 billion through smart factory adoption, says report

Capgemini has announced a new report by its Digital Transformation Institute which reveals that the automotive industry can expect to achieve $160 billion in productivity gains annually from smart factory adoption from 2023 onwards.

The report, Automotive Smart Factories: How Auto Manufacturers can Benefit from the Digital Industrial Revolution, which surveyed more than 320 automotive manufacturers, demonstrates that the automotive sector has set more aggressive targets for smart factory initiatives compared to other sectors.

Named after the magical light phenomenon that illuminates the Earth’s polar skies, Aurora Station is being developed by Orion Span and the company’s team of space industry veterans, who have over 140 years of human space experience.
