Winners of AgiBot World Challenge at IROS 2025

The AgiBot World Challenge at IROS 2025 concluded with 431 robotics teams from 23 countries competing across two major categories – the World Model Track and the Manipulation Track – showcasing advances in embodied AI and real-world robotic skills.

In the World Model Track, first place went to VIPL-GENUN from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. HD-Robo from HiDream.ai Inc. took second place, followed by SHIELD-LMD, a joint team representing Alibaba Cloud, SHIELD, and Shanghai TAM, in third.

In the Manipulation Track, AIR-DREAM, a joint entry by Tsinghua University and Shanghai AI Lab, won first place. Unitree dominates inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games with four gold medals

Unitree Robotics has emerged as the standout performer at the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG) in Beijing, taking home four gold medals across some of the event’s most competitive categories. (See video below.)

The Chinese robotics company clinched victories in the 1500 m race, 400 m race, 100 m obstacle course, and 4×100 m relay, marking a historic sweep at the debut competition.

A highlight of the Games was the speed milestone achieved by Unitree’s humanoids, which clocked 4.78 m/s during competition, with the company noting that its latest internal tests have already surpassed 5 m/s – a benchmark that sets a new pace for humanoid robotics. CMG World Robotics Tournament set for humanoid boxing showdown

Get ready for a new era of combat sports as the CMG World Robotics Tournament prepares to unfold this Sunday, May 25th, at the Hangzhou Mech Combat Arena (also reported as the Olympic Sports Center).

The event, featuring humanoid robot boxing, is scheduled to begin at 8:30 PM (GMT+8, Hong Kong time) and promises a groundbreaking display of technology and competition.

Robotics challenge: ExxonMobil extends deadline for $60,000 competition

ExxonMobil is offering $60,000 in a robotics challenge designed to find new innovations in the field of energy. 

The company has extended its deadline for submissions to May 13th, 2019.

The aim of the challenge is to develop solutions for “pain points and technology gaps” in the natural resources industry.

The Robotics Reverse Pitch Challenge, organized by BBL Ventures, is inviting submissions from local and international businesses as well as educational institutions.

Prospective entrepreneurs are also invited to enter the competition.

Energy giant ExxonMobil is offering $60,000 prize money as part of its first-ever robotics and automation innovation competition.

Organized by BBL Ventures, the “Reverse Robotics Pitch Challenge for ExxonMobil” is open now and is inviting innovation in a number of areas.
