Veo Robotics gains ISO safety certification for FreeMove system

Veo Robotics, a company that develops systems for industrial automation, says its flagship product FreeMove has received safety certification from TÜV Rheinland for its industrial robot safeguarding system – making it a “first-of-its-kind solution for human-robot collaboration”.

Veo says FreeMove is the only solution on the market today that implements dynamic, 3D speed and separation monitoring and has been certified for compliance with ISO 13849 for PLd, Category 3. Yaskawa Motoman has sold 500,000 industrial robots

Yaskawa Motoman, one of the world’s largest industrial automation companies, has sold 500,000 industrial robots.

The company says cumulative shipments of Motoman Yaskawa’s industrial robots reach 500,000 units last month – February 2021.

That’s where UPS Airlines was with its Airbus A300 freighter aircraft fleet several years ago. The 52 wide-body “browntails,” with an average age of 18 years, have plenty of life left in them.

But the avionics in the cockpit needed a serious upgrade. The current flight management computers (FMC) used for navigation have just 200 kilobytes of storage. UPS sells UPS Freight to TFI International for $800 million

Logistics giant United Parcel Services has entered into an agreement to sell UPS Freight to TFI International for $800 million, subject to working capital and other adjustments.

Carol Tomé, UPS CEO, says: “We’re excited about the future and the opportunities this creates for both UPS and UPS Freight as part of TFI International.

Starship completes ‘1 million autonomous deliveries’ and raises another $17 million

Delivery robot maker Starship Technologies says it has completed “1 million autonomous deliveries” since its launch in 2014.

The company adds that its business continues to expand with new partners and customers being added all the time.

Mitsubishi’s elevator business in China produces its one millionth unit

Mitsubishi Electric says its Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Company (SMEC), a joint venture company operating in China, has produced its one millionth unit.

The figure includes both elevators and escalators, and comes 34 years after starting production at the company’s Min Hung Plant in 1987.

Mitsubishi Electric, working in collaboration with SMEC, says it continues to deliver “safety, peace of mind and riding comfort in China”, the world’s largest elevator and escalator market, and maintain its “market-leading brand”.
