Apera AI, a specialist in “4D vision” for industrial robotic automation, has announced the release of Apera Vue 9.52 and major performance upgrades to Apera Forge.

This January 2026 update provides manufacturers with unprecedented control over robotic motion, deeper diagnostic insights into robot performance, and a significant acceleration in the simulation-to-deployment pipeline.

4D vision is a machine perception technology that combines 3D spatial data (position, shape) with temporal data (time) to analyze motion in real-time

FedEx to deploy robotic trailer unloading following multi-year collaboration with Berkshire Grey

Logistics giant FedEx has announced the implementation of a new autonomous robotic system from Berkshire Grey, a provider of AI-enabled robotic solutions that automate supply chain processes and a subsidiary of SoftBank Group.

A multi-year collaboration between FedEx and Berkshire Grey created physical AI for safer, smarter logistics, and resulted in the Scoop robotic package unloader. The Scoop system has been engineered specifically for automated trailer unloading and will help optimize FedEx operations to be safer and more efficient.

Warehouse robotics company Exotec opens new global headquarters

New York Robotics launches as region’s startup count passes 160

New York Robotics has formally launched as a non-profit organisation, citing rapid growth in robotics startups, investment activity, and talent across New York City and the wider Tri-State region.

The group said its ecosystem now includes more than 160 robotics startups across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, with nearly 100 based in New York City alone. The figures underline the region’s growing role in robotics and embodied AI as the technology moves from research into commercial deployment.

Interstuhl automates seat coating with Dürr’s robotic mould-surface technology

High-end furniture design company Interstuhl Büromöbel says it relies on modern coating technology from Dürr for the production of its work chairs for industrial and laboratory applications.

The new system automates the coating of the inner surfaces of foam moulds. Utilising the modular EcoSupply2 Core paint supply station and a 2K process controlled by an EcoAUC, Interstuhl has achieved an efficient coating process with up to five colours.

Waabi raises $1 billion to accelerate commercialization of autonomous trucking and expand into robotaxis

Waabi, a developer of autonomous trucks and physical AI, has closed its oversubscribed $750 million Series C round co-led by Khosla Ventures and G2 Venture Partners, and secured an additional milestone-based future investment from Uber to support a new partnership to deploy robotaxis powered by the Waabi Driver exclusively on the Uber platform.

The funding, the largest fundraise in Canadian history, will fuel the continued advancement of Waabi’s Physical AI Platform, further accelerate the company’s commercial progress in autonomous trucking, and support Waabi’s expansion into robotaxis.
