SoftBank and Symbotic establish new ‘warehouse-as-a-service’ joint venture

SoftBank, the telecommunications group which has wideranging interests in robotics, and Symbotic, a developer of AI-powered automation technology for the supply chain, have established a new joint venture to address the more than $500 billion annual warehouse-as-a-service market opportunity.

The newly created company is called GreenBox Systems LLC.

Concurrently, Symbotic also announced an approximately $7.5 billion new customer contract with GreenBox, who will be the exclusive provider of Symbotic systems in the warehouse-as-a-service market, and will make supply chain services available to customers. Kivnon partners with TAP for warehouse robot distribution

Kivnon, a producer of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), has announced that TAP Group, a provider of industrial solutions, will be distributing Kivnon AGVs and AMRs.

Kivnon designs, manufactures, and implements automated guided vehicles (AGVs/AMRs) for a wide range of markets, including automotive, food, aerospace, and retail applications.

European retail giant Otto Group to install more than 100 Covariant robots at fulfilment centres

Otto Group, one of the largest online retailers in Europe, is entering into a long-term strategic partnership with Covariant, an AI robotics company.

iFarm to build ‘world’s largest’ automated vertical farm in Mexico

iFarm, a vertical farming technologies provider, has agreed a collaboration with Opus 2G Group (Mexico) to build a whopping automated high-tech vertical farm in the Smart City of Tehuantepec in Oaxaca in the south of Mexico.

Built with cutting-edge vertical farming technologies, the farm will have a cultivation area of 38.500 square meters and will become the largest vertical farm in the world.

Smart City of Tehuantepec will be set up by the holding Opus 2G Group in frames of the project The Smart Industrial Corridor Benito Juarez (CIINT). Switzerland’s IAR Group establishes new subsidiary in Germany

Kiwibot secures $10 million in new funding

Kiwibot, a robotic last-mile delivery service that has completed over 250,000 food deliveries with robots, has agreed what it describes as a “tailor-made” $10 million financing partnership with asset financing group kineo finance.
