How to Choose OT Threat Detection and Response Tools

November 20, 2025 by David Edwards

Operational technology (OT) systems are critical to modern industry. As these systems become more connected, cyberattacks present a significant risk, making strong OT threat detection and response tools essential.

Understand Your OT System

Start by mapping your industrial environment. Identify all connected assets, including sensors, HMIs, IoT devices and network segments. Document how these systems communicate, such as the protocols they use and their role in your overall operations. A complete picture helps you choose tools to monitor and protect your setup accurately. [Read more…] about How to Choose OT Threat Detection and Response Tools

From Robots to Smart Grids: How Software Drives a New Era of Energy Automation

November 20, 2025 by David Edwards

From robotic inspection drones patrolling solar farms to AI-optimized wind turbines adjusting in real time, automation in renewable energy is reshaping how we build, monitor, and maintain power systems.

Global spending on energy digital transformation surpassed $70 billion in 2024, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA), as utilities race to modernize infrastructure and meet growing sustainability goals.

Around the world, rising energy demand, climate goals, and the pursuit of efficiency are accelerating this shift toward smarter, more connected infrastructure. [Read more…] about From Robots to Smart Grids: How Software Drives a New Era of Energy Automation

QR-Driven Workflows: How Smart Codes Support Robotics, Maintenance and Digital Traceability

November 20, 2025 by David Edwards

In robotics and industrial automation, speed and precision matter but so does the ability to access the right information at exactly the right moment.

Whether it’s a maintenance engineer standing beside a robotic arm, a technician needing an updated calibration sheet, or an operator trying to verify a process instruction, delays in documentation cost time, money and uptime.

That’s why many factories and robotics manufacturers have started turning to dynamic QR systems. Instead of relying on paper binders, outdated USB files or buried intranet folders, teams now attach scannable access points directly onto machines, panels or components. Forgis raises $4.5 million Pre-Seed funding to ‘rebuild the West’s industrial intelligence’

November 14, 2025 by David Edwards

Forgis, a Zurich-based startup building the brain that makes plants autonomous, has announced a $4.5 million pre-seed funding round led by redalpine, with participation from Massimo Banzi, co-founder of Arduino, and other investors from deep tech and manufacturing.

“The West invented industry,” says Forgis in its press release, “and then forgot how to build. For decades, it outsourced factories, traded machines for spreadsheets, and watched production drift east. If Europe sparked the first industrial revolution, China is industrializing the second in the dark.”

During the last decade, China’s industrial robot stock grew from 200 thousand to 2 million, 567 per 10 thousand workers surpassing Germany, the US, and the UK combined. Forgis wants to help the West close the industrialization gap, not through protectionism, but through intelligence.
