Authorities in the German region of Saxony-Anhalt are investing heavily in developing technologies in which Industry 4.0 meets artificial intelligence and will be showcasing them at this year’s Hannover Messe

“Integrated Industry – Industrial Intelligence”, the digital networking of man and machine in the age of artificial intelligence – this is the topic of the world’s largest industrial exhibition this year, the Hannover Messe.

Techmetics launches fleet of autonomous navigation robots for service industries

Techmetics, a robotics solutions company, has launched two new autonomous navigation robots – the Techi Butler and Techi Cart series.

Headquartered in Singapore, Techmetics says it is aiming to innovate and promote change in various service sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, casino and manufacturing.

Hannover Messe to showcase Industry 4.0, AI and 5G this year

Hannover Messe this year aims to show visitors the path ahead to tomorrow’s factories with in-depth coverage of Industry 4.0 technologies, artificial intelligence, 5G, lightweight construction and the future of work.

Sporting a significantly enlarged conference program, it will also be a major dialogue hub for forward thinkers from industry and government.

The organising company of the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology says the event is heading into its 2019 opening day in “very strong form”. Hybrit project aims to ‘revolutionise iron and steelmaking’

A project called Hybrit is aiming to revolutionize the iron and steelmaking by removing fossil fuels from the process.

The initiative says it is developing methods to replace coking coal, which is traditionally needed for ore-based steelmaking, with hydrogen.

Kreatize raises €4 million for digital platform for industrial components production

Kreatize, which claims to be Germany’s first fully-automated digital platform that supports the production of industrial components for the mechanical engineering market and its manufacturing partners, has raised €4 million in its Series A round of funding only 18 months after market launch.

The main investors involved in this round are Earlybird Venture Capital and Atlantic Labs.

Endress+Hauser starts construction of Texas facility

Industrial instrumentation and process automation company Endress+Hauser is investing $36 million in a new regional center on the Gulf Coast of the USA.

The company officially broke ground on earlier this month at its new site in Pearland’s lower Kirby District near Houston, Texas. Completion is projected by the end of 2020.

Astranis Space Technologies selects Wind River real-time operating system for new satellite

Wind River, a provider of software for critical infrastructure, says satellite startup Astranis Space Technologies is using VxWorks real-time operating system for its next-generation satellite that will deliver cost-effective high-speed internet to underserved markets.

Over half of the world doesn’t have access to the internet – and satellites are expected to play a major role in solving that problem.

German Bionic to present its first robot exoskeleton for industrial IoT

Robotics specialist German Bionic is to present the first connected robot exoskeleton for use with the industrial internet of things, at the Hannover Messe industrial technology show.

The German Bionic IO cloud platform connects the third generation of the Cray X exoskeleton with all common enterprise solutions and networked manufacturing systems, enabling complete integration into “smart factory” and Industry 4.0 environments.
