AutoStore and Bastian Solutions expand automated fulfillment at Puma facility

AutoStore and systems integrator Bastian Solutions have once again partnered with global sports brand Puma.

The three companies jointly aannounced an expansion of their strategic collaboration by implementing the AutoStore system at a new distribution center in Phoenix, Arizona.

EndoQuest Robotics applies for FDA approval for its new robotic surgery device

EndoQuest Robotics, a privately held medical device company and pioneer in the development of flexible endoluminal robotic technologies, has submitted an Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) application for its pivotal colorectal clinical study.

EndoQuest says its mission is to “transform surgical outcomes for minimally invasive surgery” (MIS) with its groundbreaking flexible robotic system.

Scientists develop ‘cat’s eye-inspired vision system’ for autonomous robotics

Researchers led by Professor Young Min Song from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) have unveiled a vision system inspired by feline eyes to enhance object detection in various lighting conditions.

Featuring a unique shape and reflective surface, the system reduces glare in bright environments and boosts sensitivity in low-light scenarios.

By filtering unnecessary details, this technology significantly improves the performance of single-lens cameras, representing a notable advancement in robotic vision capabilities.

Corvus Robotics brings drone-based autonomous inventory management system to lights-out warehouses

New funding round brings total company investment to $18 million

Corvus Robotics, a provider of autonomous inventory management systems, has released an updated version of its Corvus One system that brings, “for the first time”, the ability to fly its drone-powered system in a lights-out distribution center without any added infrastructure like reflectors, stickers, or beacons.

Computacenter installs Exotec’s Skypod system to ‘optimise warehouse logistics’

Warehouse robotics provider Exotec has implemented its Skypod system at Computacenter, a provider of IT services in Europe. Computacenter aims to meet the increasing demands being placed on its order processing capabilities.

Due to the ever-growing number of small orders and a sharp rise in shipments, Computacenter needed to increase the efficiency and flexibility of its internal logistics processes.

Nuro to license its autonomous driving system to automakers

Nuro has decided to license its Nuro Driver autonomous driving system directly to automakers and mobility providers to “to accelerate autonomous vehicle development and deployment timelines”.

The Nuro Driver is built on Nvidia’s end-to-end safety architecture, which includes Nvidia GPUs for AI training in the cloud and an automotive-grade Nvidia Drive Thor computer running the Nvidia DriveOS operating system inside the vehicle.

AutoStore launches ‘multi-temperature’ automated storage and retrieval system

AutoStore has added new capabilities to its automated storage and retrieval system for warehouses: the AutoStore Multi-Temperature Solution, an expanded 18-Level Grid, a Motorized Service Vehicle, and enhancements to the cube control software.

Building on AutoStore’s foundation of density, efficiency, and scalability, the company says these new innovations will “help businesses maintain a competitive edge” with their automated fulfillment solutions.

Programmable logic controllers, or PLCs, can survive for more than 20 years, and it’s something we see regularly here at Foxmere.

Although the component parts of a PLC, such as central processing units (CPUs) and power supply units (PSUs), boast long lifespans, components such as input/output (I/O) modules and communication modules are not so robust.
