Cornerstone Robotics raises over $70 million to commercialize robotic surgery system

Cornerstone Robotics, a developer of surgical robotics, has successfully raised over $70 million in Series C financing led by EQT with participation from Qiming Venture Partners, Alpha JWC Ventures, the Innovation and Technology Venture Fund, eGarden Ventures, CTS Funds, K2VC, Long-Z Capital, and others.

This funding will accelerate the company’s efforts in advancing the commercialization process, developing new surgical robotics products, conducting clinical trials, obtaining regulatory approvals, and promoting global adoption of advanced robotic surgical solutions.

In addition to receiving funding from a group of prominent investors, the Company headquartered in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, also received investment from the Innovation and Technology Venture Fund under the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. Flexiv partners with Kurabo to launch new industrial robot

Flexiv, a developer of general-purpose robotics solutions, has partnered with Kurabo, a Japanese pioneer in high-speed image processing and 3D measurement technology, to develop the “groundbreaking” Kuravizon adaptive robot.

Integrating Flexiv’s industry-leading force control technology with Kurabo’s advanced 3D vision sensing technology, Kurasense, the Kuravizon robot will be available for sale starting January 10th, 2025.

BlueStar and Exotec partner to launch ‘smarter’ warehouse automation system

BlueStar partners with Exotec in warehouse automation solutions

BlueStar, a global distributor of solutions-based digital identification, mobility, point-of-sale, and RFID technologies, has chosen Exotec to deliver a smarter warehouse automation solution in its distribution centres located in Europe and the United States.

Thanks to this partnership, BlueStar will increase performance, flexibility, safety, and efficiency in its warehousing operations.

Exotec expands pharmaceutical sector portfolio through partnerships with Hygie31 and Hartmann

Exotec, a provider of warehouse automation and robotics solutions, has agreed partnerships with two new organisations in the pharmaceutical sector: Hygie31 and Hartmann Group. Both companies will adopt Exotec’s Skypod robotic system to automate warehouse processes and increase efficiency.

Hygie31, a major player in the healthcare industry has chosen Exotec to transform its pharmacy Dhygietal logistics platform, with the Skypod robots implemented at the company’s La Veuve warehouse.

The Exotec installation covers 1,500 sq m and comprises 38 Skypod robots, moving autonomously in all directions and up to 11 metres in height.

Virtual Incision and Sovato Health demonstrate remote robotic surgery system across 40,000 miles

Virtual Incision, the developer of the miniaturized robotic-assisted MIRA Surgical System, and Sovato Health, a provider of remote surgery systems, say they have successfully completed a preclinical demonstration of nearly 40,000 miles combined distance.

Four surgeons performed a total of 20 procedures on porcine models as part of the remote capabilities test, representing approximately 2,000 miles for each procedure.

Francesco Maria Bianco, MD, from the University of Illinois Chicago, and Yanghee Woo, MD, Yasmin Zerhouni, MD, and Clayton Lau, MD, from City of Hope National Medical Center, leveraged the combined technology of Virtual Incision and Sovato to complete the remote cholecystectomy, colectomy, gastric mobilization/gastrostomy/primary closure, and nephrectomy procedures on porcine models. Geekplus launches ‘world’s most powerful robot management system’ in time for peak season holiday rush

Geekplus, the world’s largest warehouse robotics provider, has unveiled a “significant upgrade” to its Robot Management System (RMS) – just in time for the peak holiday season. The company says it is “the world’s most powerful robot management system”.

The enhanced RMS is capable of coordinating over 5,000 robots and processing 10,000 tasks per second, setting a new benchmark for high-volume logistics operations during the busiest time of the year.

As e-commerce orders surge during the holiday season, warehouses face the challenge of managing massive throughput without compromising speed or accuracy.
