Epson showcases new Flexion industrial robot and printer built using SCARA robot

Epson’s Flexion 6-axis industrial robot

Epson Robots is showcasing a range of new technologies for a wide variety of applications in factory automation at the Automation Technology show, ATX East.

ATX is currently under way, running from June 13-15, and is being held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York, in the US. Epson’s booth is number 2405.

Yamaha launches new SCARA robot and ‘advanced’ robotics automation platform

Company claims its robot has the industry’s fastest motion performance of a 0.28 seconds standard cycle time, and it targets unit sales of 2,800 at an open price

Yamaha has introduced a “new full model change” SCARA Robot YKX Series, which is compatible with its own “Advanced Robotics Automation Platform” – essentially an internet of things platform for its machines. 

Yamaha will formally launch the new YKX series of SCARA robots and its the newly-developed Advanced Robotics Automation Platform integrated control robot system on December 1, 2016.

With this “full model change”, as Yamaha calls it, the YKX series has achieved even higher rigidity and high-speed motion through drive system upgrades and Yamaha Motor’s “unique” motor-reduction gear direct connection structure – a completely beltless structure, says the company.  [Read more…] about Yamaha launches new SCARA robot and ‘advanced’ robotics automation platform

Epson expands LS series SCARA industrial robot lineup

Epson says its “robust” SCARA lineup now offers “even more robots for more applications” 

Epson Robots, the global leader in SCARA Robots, expands their SCARA robot lineup with the introduction of 3 new robots – the LS20, LS6-500 and LS6-700. 

Built to carry heavy objects at high speeds, the LS20 offers a maximum payload of 20 kg and arm lengths in 800mm and 1000mm. Both arm lengths feature a 420mm Z-Axis length.

Notable features include high speed cycle times, superior accel/decel rates with smooth start/stop motion and reduced vibration due to Epson’s proprietary QMEMS vibration sensing technology.

Nachi-Fujikoshi launches ‘new category’ of robot

Nachi-Fujikoshi has launched what it says is a new category robot, called Wing Slicer, of the type EZ series. 

The company says the new machine represents an expansion of the compact robot market.

Comau makes dramatic robotics announcements at Automatica – including new collaborative robot

In one of the most dramatic statements of intent, Comau has launched tons of new robots and technologies at Automatica, and provided an insight into its new collaborative robot, under the company’s new motto ‘Think out of the fence’ 

Comau has introduced two new Racer robots and the SCARA robot family along with a preview of their high payload collaborative robots.
