OnRobot releases ‘world’s most powerful’ electric vacuum gripper for robot arms

February 25, 2021 by David Edwards

OnRobot has released what it describes as the “world’s most powerful” electric vacuum gripper for robot arms.

OnRobot says its new VGP20 electric vacuum gripper provides a powerful and versatile solution for challenging palletising scenarios including heavy, bulky and porous surfaces.

Large, unwieldy bags of dog food, non-airtight clothing or consumer goods packages, and bulky, porous cardboard boxes. These are just some examples of demanding packaging and palletising applications that OnRobot’s new VGP20 gripper can address. NuTec employs Epson cleanroom robots to automate medical syringe manufacturing

February 18, 2021 by David Edwards

NuTec Tooling Systems, a developer of custom automation solutions, has built a syringe coating machine which integrates four Epson Robots Cleanroom SCARA robots for a pharmaceutical original equipment manufacturing.

The robots are employed at various stations within the machine to provide precise, efficient, and cost-effective automation to the customer’s syringe manufacturing process.

The concept phase of the project started in 2018, and the machine was ready for operation in November 2020, enabling the OEM to work with government agencies at a critical time to develop a cost-effective process for manufacturing mass quantities of syringes to use in the fight against Covid-19. ABB expands RobotStudio with ability to control SCARA robots from PC

May 1, 2020 by Sam Francis

ABB says it has “simplified” the use of its popular SCARA robots by giving users the ability to commission and control the robots from their PC through RobotStudio, ABB’s simulation and offline programming software.

Robot Control Mate is an add-on to RobotStudio, enabling users to jog, teach and calibrate robots from their computer, making it easier than ever to control a SCARA robot’s movements.

For the first time, ABB’s offline programming software can be used to control the physical movements of a robot in real-time. Robot Control Mate also makes robot programming possible when a FlexPendant is not in place. [Read more…] about ABB expands RobotStudio with ability to control SCARA robots from PC
