Diligent Robotics raises $3 million seed funding to launch Moxi the hospital robot

Startup company Diligent Robotics has raised $3 million in seed funding to launch “Moxi”, the company’s hospital robot.

Diligent Robotics describes itself as an artificial intelligence company which builds socially intelligent robots that help people with their jobs.

RightHand Robotics and Element Logic launch integrated robotic piece-picking solution

RightHand Robotics, a provider of warehouse automation technology, and Element Logic, an AutoStore partner, have launched an integrated robotic piece-picking solution that combines the technologies of both companies. 

The announcement was made in conjunction with IMHX in Birmingham, UK, September 24-27.

Geek+ Robotics provides innovation insights at technical forum on sidelines of IMHX

Geek+ Robotics, the world’s leading supplier of warehouse robots, has been providing technical insights into its latest innovations at a forum on the sidelines of IMHX, the ongoing intralogistics technology show being held in the UK.

Senior executives from Geek+, which has sold more than 7,000 warehouse robots since its inception five years ago, presented a variety of solutions that will add completely new functionalities to its current offerings.

All Axis Robotics manufactures custom robot arm end-effectors with MakerBot 3D printer

MakerBot, a 3D printing equipment supplier, says All Axis Robotics is implementing the MakerBot “Method” manufacturing workstation – or 3D printer – into its automation processes to produce custom tooling parts for its legacy machines as well as customers.

All Axis Robotics is a Dallas, Texas-based machine shop and a leader in turnkey custom robot solutions for other machine shops and manufacturing facilities in need of automated machine tending.

IMHX provides platform for more robotics and automation technologies

IMHX is one of the largest trade shows aimed at the intralogistics sector in the UK. Held in Birmingham, the event features more than 450 exhibitors and attracts more than 16,000 industry experts over its four-day duration, from September 24th to 27th.

As with the other events Robotics and Automation News has covered over the past year or two, IMHX is seeing an increasing number of robotics and automation solutions sharing the stage with technologies that have been established for a lot longer.

Doosan Robotics showcases ‘next generation’ collaborative robots at China fair

Doosan Robotics has been showcasing the “next generation” of collaborative robots at one of the largest industrial trade fairs in China.

Doosan introduced what the company described as “the world’s most adaptive lineup of collaborative robots”.

Vecna Robotics to showcase automated solutions at new DHL Innovation Center

Vecna Robotics, a developer of autonomous logistics solutions, has installed a permanent display of their robotic vehicles at the new DHL Americas Innovation Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

The DHL Americas Innovation Center will foster research and collaboration focused on logistics and supply chain solutions.

Comau features its exoskeleton in Pack Expo robotics showcase

Comau, an industrial automation company and part of the Fiat Chrysler Group, is presenting its Muscular Aiding Tech Exoskeleton (Mate) in the all new Robotic Zone (booth N-850G) at Pack Expo Las Vegas.

Visitors to Comau’s interactive booth will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the benefit of incorporating exoskeletons into material handling processes by wearing a Mate in a typical pick and place operation.

Built Robotics raises $33 million for its autonomous construction vehicles

Built Robotics has closed a $33 million Series B investment round led by Next47, the new global venture fund backed by Siemens. This brings Built’s total funding to $48 million.

The startup has now raised more than $100 million in customer commitments for its autonomous construction solutions.

Built Robotics says it will use the capital to scale its fleet of autonomous robots, expand into new construction verticals, and develop tools to support the next-generation of equipment operators. Record sales of collaborative robots reveal increasing demand for end-of-arm tooling

With a growth of 23 percent in annual installations of collaborative robots from 2017 to 2018, the new World Robotics Report, published by International Federation of Robotics, shows a huge demand for end-of-arm-tooling, (EoAT).

In 2018 almost 14,000 new cobot arms were installed, and if this trend continues, that number will double in approximately three years, prompting an unprecedented EoAT market opportunity that OnRobot is ready to address.
