Interview with Epson Robots’ Scott Marsic: ‘We make it simple to deploy robots’

November 5, 2025 by Sam Francis

Epson Robots has been a quiet but influential force in industrial robotics for decades, particularly in high-precision automation.

The company’s history in robotics dates back to its internal efforts to automate watch assembly, which pushed it toward small-parts handling, speed, and accuracy rather than heavy-payload industrial automation. That heritage still shapes its strategy.

Today, Epson is best known for its strong market position in the SCARA robot segment – where it has held a prominent position globally for many years – and for supplying compact six-axis systems, vision tools, force-sensing technology, and integrated software environments designed to reduce deployment time and complexity. AI agents will infiltrate consumer mass market within months, says IEEE

November 5, 2025 by Sam Francis

AI agents are about to take over the world at “lightning speed” and will become mass market by 2026, according to a new survey by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organisation dedicated to advancing technology for humanity, has released the results of “The Impact of Technology in 2026 and Beyond: an IEEE Global Study”, a survey of global technology leaders from Brazil, China, India, Japan, the UK and US.

The study covers which technologies AI will influence the most in 2026; expectations for AI market growth, benefits, uses, and skills; and future technology trends.

To learn more about the study and the impact of technology in 2026 and beyond, visit https://transmitter.ieee.org/iot-2026. [Read more…] about AI agents will infiltrate consumer mass market within months, says IEEE

John Deere customers use autonomous ‘See & Spray’ technology across 5 million acres in 2025

November 5, 2025 by Sam Francis

Farm equipment giant John Deere says its “See & Spray” technology, which is a key part of the company’s autonomous offering, was used across “more than 5 million acres of farmland during the 2025 growing season” – a land area larger than the state of New Jersey.

In 2025, John Deere says its customers “reduced non-residual herbicide use by an average of nearly 50 percent – saving nearly 31 million gallons of herbicide mix – demonstrating the power of targeted application, even in a season marked by elevated weed pressure and frequent rains”.

Joshua Ladd, marketing manager for application at John Deere, says: “See & Spray continues to redefine what’s possible in crop protection. [Read more…] about John Deere customers use autonomous ‘See & Spray’ technology across 5 million acres in 2025
