Why Delivery Robots Are Becoming Essential in Modern Automation

April 28, 2026 by David Edwards

Modern automation is shifting from a traditional factory-centric model toward an intelligent network driven by artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital systems. In this process, delivery robots are becoming increasingly important.

Their core value lies in extending automation from “handling digital tasks” to “performing real-world delivery operations,” enabling industries such as logistics, healthcare, and retail to achieve true end-to-end automation.

Unlike traditional equipment, delivery robots can move and operate autonomously in complex real-world environments, making them a key technology for connecting AI systems with real-world operations. [Read more…] about Why Delivery Robots Are Becoming Essential in Modern Automation

Cognibotics receives $1.7 million order for its robot calibration technology

March 6, 2026 by David Edwards

Cognibotics has announced that a “leading global industrial robot manufacturer” has placed an order valued at approximately SEK 16 million ($1.7 million) for its CogniCal robot calibration technology.

The order expands the customer’s use of CogniCal in robot production, and reinforces the growing role of calibration in industrial robot manufacturing.

CogniCal’s high-accuracy robot performance compensates for geometric deviations, elastic effects, and payload influence. The result is improved accuracy, reduced variance between robots, and shorter start time for end customers. PAL Robotics showcases TIAGo Pro at MWC Barcelona 2026

March 5, 2026 by David Edwards

PAL Robotics, an European pioneer in humanoid and service robotics, has been showcasing its technology at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026, which took place from March 2-5 at Fira Gran Via, as an integral exhibitor of the Spain Pavilion (Hall 4 – 4C30, Stand 5).

Set in the city where the company was founded and where its headquarters still stand, PAL Robotics is prepared to participate in the global connectivity ecosystem and share how robotics, AI and real-time communication come together to enable robots to move from controlled demos to practical deployment.

At the stand, visitors had the chance to meet TIAGo Pro, PAL Robotics’ next-generation mobile manipulator. Designed as an adaptable platform, TIAGo Pro brings together navigation, perception and manipulation capabilities with a fully open-source software architecture, which enables developers to build, integrate and iterate faster, enhancing their projects where they need it most, and enabling research and development for diverse applications and streamlining deployment across industries. MIT alumni build robots that spare warehouse workers the heavy lifting

December 5, 2025 by David Edwards

By Zach Winn, MIT News

Founded by MIT alumni, the Pickle Robot Company has developed machines that can autonomously load and unload trucks inside warehouses and logistic centers.

There are some jobs human bodies just weren’t meant to do. Unloading trucks and shipping containers is a repetitive, grueling task – and a big reason warehouse injury rates are more than twice the national average.

The Pickle Robot Company wants its machines to do the heavy lifting. The company’s one-armed robots autonomously unload trailers, picking up boxes weighing up to 50 pounds and placing them onto onboard conveyor belts for warehouses of all types.

The company name, an homage to The Apple Computer Company, hints at the ambitions of founders AJ Meyer ’09, Ariana Eisenstein ’15, SM ’16, and Dan Paluska ’97, SM ’00. The founders want to make the company the technology leader for supply chain automation. [Read more…] about MIT alumni build robots that spare warehouse workers the heavy lifting

Agile Robots launches its first humanoid robot for industry

November 20, 2025 by David Edwards

Agile Robots, a developer of intelligent robotic solutions, is launching its first humanoid robot. Agile ONE is designed for use in industrial settings, where it will work “safely and efficiently alongside humans and other robotic solutions”, says the company.

The humanoid combines intuitive human-robot interaction, the world’s most dexterous robotic hand, and an innovative AI model trained on real-world industrial data. It will be manufactured in-house in Germany.

CEO and founder Dr Zhaopeng Chen said: “At Agile Robots we believe the next industrial revolution is Physical AI: intelligent, autonomous and flexible robots that can perceive, understand and act in the physical world. Agile ONE embodies this revolution.” [Read more…] about Agile Robots launches its first humanoid robot for industry
