NuTec employs Epson cleanroom robots to automate medical syringe manufacturing

February 18, 2021 by David Edwards

NuTec Tooling Systems, a developer of custom automation solutions, has built a syringe coating machine which integrates four Epson Robots Cleanroom SCARA robots for a pharmaceutical original equipment manufacturing.

The robots are employed at various stations within the machine to provide precise, efficient, and cost-effective automation to the customer’s syringe manufacturing process.

The concept phase of the project started in 2018, and the machine was ready for operation in November 2020, enabling the OEM to work with government agencies at a critical time to develop a cost-effective process for manufacturing mass quantities of syringes to use in the fight against Covid-19. Device Fingerprinting Benefits for Business in 2021

February 16, 2021 by Polly

Device fingerprinting is a relatively new “cookie-less” activity capture method that tracks your device OS, screen dimensions, fonts, clock, browser version, and other info for marketing purposes.

Unlike cookies, fingerprinting data isn’t stored on users’ devices, which means that it cannot be deleted that simply.

Device fingerprinting looks quite controversial for many users, but is there actually anything to be aware of or is it the next-gen user activity tracking method with lots of benefits for business? [Read more…] about Device Fingerprinting Benefits for Business in 2021

K.Hartwall launches new ‘autonomous mobile robot’

February 16, 2021 by David Edwards

K.Hartwall has launched a new “autonomous mobile robot” called A-Mate. The company says this is the first fully electric free-lift pallet “AGV” with omnidirectional drive on the market.

K.Hartwall calls its new machine an AGV as well as an AMR, which indicates the ongoing merging of the two technologies across the industry.

The company says the A-Mate is an extremely versatile mobile robot that will bring a new level of automation to intra-logistics, and to the movements of different load carriers, from pallets to roll containers and foldable cages or “gitter” boxes. ABB expands project to automate semiconductor factory

December 18, 2020 by David Edwards

What started out as a small project to automate a single production stage has morphed into an award-winning program to digitally transform one of ABB’s own factories – in what is dubbed Project Genesis. (See video below.)

The power semiconductors produced by ABB pass through hundreds of production steps, from raw wafer dicing to the final semiconductor module.

Production of the BiMOS semiconductor – one of two types produced at Lenzburg, Switzerland – was labor intensive and tended to generate bottlenecks during high demand. [Read more…] about ABB expands project to automate semiconductor factory

Customer Due Diligence: Why and How?

December 17, 2020 by Polly

Customer-related risk assessment is highly important to any organization. That’s why companies process information from each prospective customer to maintain the needed level of organizational supervision.

Proper customer due diligence (CDD) is what institutionalizes this process. Proper CDD utilizing makes companies aware of the smallest risk and helps identify the highest risks, including fraud.

CDD is a legal requirement for businesses in the US and many other countries with EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) required for dealing with clients from the KYC high-risk category. [Read more…] about Customer Due Diligence: Why and How?
