OnRobot launches new gripper for handling cylindrical objects

March 12, 2020 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

OnRobot, the makers of robotics tools for collaborative applications, has released a compact, large-stroke three-finger gripper.

OnRobot says its 3FG15 makes previously hard-to-automate precision handling of cylindrical parts “easy to program and deploy, and provides flexibility for a wide range of part sizes”.

CEO of OnRobot, Enrico Krog Iversen, says: “Our new 3FG15 three-finger gripper was developed as a response to existing pneumatic three-finger grippers that are bulkier and less flexible. [Read more…] about OnRobot launches new gripper for handling cylindrical objects

Siasun develops robotic system for packing cigarettes

January 31, 2020 by Mai Tao Leave a Comment

Chinese industrial robotics company Siasun has developed a new system for packing cigarettes which can cope with the ever-changing shapes and dimensions of tobacco products and packaging.

The company is using a delta robot to pack cigarettes into packaging which is increasingly unusual in the way it is designed, with some opening in the middle and other opening on the narrow side instead of the wide edge, which is the usual method globally. (See illustration below.) [Read more…] about Siasun develops robotic system for packing cigarettes
