Flexiv robot irons car seats during manufacturing process

Flexiv, a provider of general-purpose robotics solutions, has completed its latest successful installation: an automated ironing system for car seat manufacturing.

This latest use of the Rizon 4 robot represents a significant step forward in the creation of luxury car seats, as it enables throughput rate to be sped up without compromising output quality.

Equipped with a custom end-of-arm bracket for mounting a standard high-pressure steam iron, the Rizon 4 uses its advanced force control capacity to accurately emulate the movement and pressure trained experts utilize to remove wrinkles and ensure correct material placement. QYSEA releases new ‘compact and highly capable’ underwater drone

QYSEA Technology has released its latest “compact and highly capable” underwater drone, FIFISH V-EVO.

The new drone is claimed to be “the first underwater drone to feature a 4K 60 FPS camera with 360-degree omnidirectional movement”, allowing filmmakers and explorers to capture increased detail and smooth slow-motion videos in ultra-high definition, as deep as 100 meters below the surface.

Mazak launches new 5-axis vertical machining centre

Yamazaki Mazak has unveiled a new high-accuracy simultaneous 5-axis vertical machining centre, the Variaxis C-600, suitable for a wide range of sectors, including the aerospace and automotive markets.

Mazak says the C-600, which is the successor machine to the highly successful Variaxis j-600/5X, is being marketed at a “highly attractive price point” to provide a high performance and cost-effective 5-axis solution.

The Variaxis C-600 is characterised by its highly agile performance, with no compromise on rigidity. The compact machine, capable of machining workpieces up to Ø730 mm x H450 mm and 500 kg in weight, has been designed with a large machining envelope and a high-rigidity structure featuring a Ø600 mm fully supported trunnion table with roller gear cam on the B- and C-axes. Ford installs team of collaborative robots on Fiesta assembly line

Automaker Ford has for the first time introduced a team of collaborative robots that works alongside engineers in Cologne, Germany, to ensure every Ford Fiesta has a perfect finish.

The six cobots complete a choreographed sequence to sand the entire body surface in just 35 seconds. The initiative does not replace employees but allows operators to use their time on more complex tasks and avoid suffering the strains associated with performing repetitive tasks.
