However, once these systems are deployed, they are prone to face unique challenges. Lighting conditions, variations in human behavior, the variety of surfaces encountered, and background noise are examples of factors that can contribute to these newfound friction points in untested scenarios. mimic robotics introduces ‘frontier video-action models’ to the factory floor at Audi
mimic robotics, a physical AI company developing Video-Action Models for industrial automation, has introduced FLUX-mimic – a next-generation Video-Action Model developed in collaboration with Black Forest Labs – that enables robots to learn and perform complex manipulation tasks in real-world industrial environments.
FLUX-mimic combines mimic’s expertise in robot learning, dexterous manipulation, and production deployment with the frontier visual intelligence architecture of Black Forest Labs’ new FLUX 3 video model.
mimic’s earlier work, “mimic-video”, introduced Video-Action Models by taking a pre-trained video generation model and adding the capability to predict robot actions. FLUX-mimic builds on that foundation with an architecture purpose-built for physical AI. [Read more…] about mimic robotics introduces ‘frontier video-action models’ to the factory floor at Audi
Neura Robotics expands global physical AI training network in partnership with RWTH Aachen University
Neura Robotics has partnered with RWTH Aachen University to establish a new Neura Gym in Germany as part of its expanding global network of Physical AI training centres.
The new facility, known as Neura Gym RWTH Aachen, is scheduled to open by the end of 2026 at the university’s Hightech Campus Melaten. It will form part of a worldwide network of purpose-built centres where robots can be trained using real-world environments alongside simulation to generate data for AI development.
The company said ten Neura Gyms are currently under development, with five expected to be operational across Europe, the United States and China by the end of 2026. [Read more…] about Neura Robotics expands global physical AI training network in partnership with RWTH Aachen University
Tacta Systems unveils AI-powered robotic hand for high-value manufacturing
Tacta Systems has unveiled a robotics platform designed to bring human-like dexterity and touch to industrial automation, with the company targeting applications in electronics, AI infrastructure and automotive manufacturing.
The company’s first product, TactaBot, combines a robotic hand, a wearable skill capture system and an artificial intelligence engine that it says enables robots to perform complex manufacturing tasks requiring precision, adaptability and tactile feedback.
Tacta plans to begin deploying the technology with manufacturing customers in early 2027. [Read more…] about Tacta Systems unveils AI-powered robotic hand for high-value manufacturing
America hits Chinese humanoids where it hurts
Chinese companies represent almost 70 percent of the global humanoid robot market
Chinese humanoid robot manufacturers could face a significant setback in one of the world’s largest technology markets after the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) moved to block new foreign-produced advanced robotic devices from receiving equipment authorization.
The move follows a determination by US national security agencies that foreign-produced advanced robots pose unacceptable cybersecurity and supply chain risks.
While existing authorized robots remain unaffected, new foreign-produced humanoids, quadrupeds and other advanced mobile robots will generally be unable to obtain the FCC approvals needed to be imported, marketed or sold in the United States.
