Humanoid and Schaeffler strike deal to deploy thousands of humanoid robots in factories

May 13, 2026 by David Edwards

Humanoid, a UK-based AI and robotics company, has signed a binding, phased deployment and supply agreement with Schaeffler, a leading motion technology company, to integrate humanoid robots directly into live manufacturing operations.

The first systems go live in Germany before the end of 2026. Humanoid will also purchase actuators from Schaeffler as a preferred supplier.

The agreement is one of the largest disclosed humanoid robot rollouts ever announced and positions Humanoid, founded by Artem Sokolov in 2024, among the youngest companies to secure a large-scale contract at this level. It targets deployment of a four-digit number of wheeled units across Schaeffler’s global facilities by 2032. Schaeffler partners with Vietnamese humanoid robot manufacturer VinDynamics

April 29, 2026 by David Edwards

Schaeffler and VinDynamics, part of Vietnam’s Vingroup conglomerate, have agreed on a strategic partnership for humanoid robotics. The partnership centers on the development and supply of planetary gearboxes. These are central components of actuators that function as muscles and joints and enable humanoid robots to move.

Under the partnership, the two companies will also jointly collect robot- and application-related data. They will use this data to help improve actuator design and performance and pave the way for future services, such as predictive maintenance.

For Schaeffler, the partnership is the first arrangement of its kind with a humanoid robot manufacturer in the Asia/Pacific region. It complements the company’s existing network of partnerships with leading manufacturers in Europe, China and the US and strengthens its global position in the human robotics ecosystem. Robotiq launches tactile sensor fingertips for adaptive gripper

February 2, 2026 by Sam Francis

Robotiq has launched its TSF-85 tactile sensor fingertips for the 2F-85 Adaptive Gripper, giving Physical AI systems the sense of touch needed for real-world manipulation.

With integrated tactile sensing, Robotiq enables robots to not only see the world, but to feel, understand, and reliably interact with it at scale. The Tactile Sensor Fingertips for the 2F-85 gripper are available now.

Robots cannot learn the physical world through vision alone. Real-world manipulation requires contact awareness, force control, and feedback from interaction. [Read more…] about Robotiq launches tactile sensor fingertips for adaptive gripper

State of Louisiana partners with Persona AI on humanoid robotics pilot at steel fabrication plant

February 2, 2026 by Sam Francis

The State of Louisiana has signed a memorandum of understanding with Persona AI to launch a humanoid robotics pilot program inside an active heavy-industry facility, marking what officials describe as a rare instance of a US state formally supporting humanoid robot development in a live industrial setting.

The pilot will be conducted at SSE Steel Fabrication’s large-scale steel fabrication facility in St Bernard Parish and will focus on collecting real-world data on human movement and task execution in a working manufacturing environment.

According to the announcement, the initiative is intended to support the development of humanoid robots capable of operating in environments “originally built for humans rather than redesigned for traditional automation”, including the use of existing tools, navigation across uneven terrain, and adaptation to changing shop-floor conditions.
