Robotic construction startup Reframe Systems wins prestigious house-building prize

Reframe Systems, a start-up utilizing physical AI and robotics to build houses off-site, has been named the winner of the 2025 Ivory Prize for Housing Affordability in Construction & Design.

The prestigious national award recognizes innovative, feasible, and scalable solutions aimed at addressing the critical issue of housing affordability.

ABB Robotics and US start-up Molg tackle data center e-waste with robotic micro-factories

ABB Robotics is collaborating with US start-up Molg to create robotic micro-factories to recover and recycle data center operators’ disused electronic equipment, commonly known as e-waste.

With global e-waste projected to rise to 75 million tons by 2030, the micro-factories will play a vital role in reducing the electronic waste, helping the data center sector operate more efficiently and sustainably.

Bright Machines launches ‘first software-defined microfactory’

Bright Machines has launched what it says the “first software-defined microfactory”.

The term “software-defined” is often used in computer networking and implies that a system is less dependent on specific – perhaps expensive – hardware and more defined by the software.
