Agibot stages robot-led live show to demonstrate humanoids operating at scale

March 18, 2026 by Sam Francis

Agibot, a humanoid robotics company specializing in embodied intelligence, recently hosted something it called “Agibot Night”, a robot-led gala show streamed live across the internet to millions.

The 60-minute program marks the world’s first large-scale live event fully led by humanoid robots, where humanoid robots took center stage to perform dance, magic, comedy, and music, appearing not as tools or supporting elements, but as the primary performers throughout the show.

“Agibot Night goes beyond a conventional product showcase and marks a milestone for humanoid robotics, demonstrating how embodied intelligence is moving from laboratory experimentation into real-world social and cultural settings,” said Qiu Heng, chief marketing officer of Agibot. Software Development AI Robotics: Engineering Intelligent Machines for the Real World

February 26, 2026 by David Edwards

Software development AI robotics is transforming how intelligent machines operate across the physical world. From warehouse automation and industrial robots to humanoid robots designed for human interaction, modern robotics blends artificial intelligence, embedded systems and advanced software engineering to create intelligent systems that can perceive, decide and act.

As robotics projects grow more complex, structured software development becomes critical. Many organisations building AI and robotics platforms look to approaches followed by custom software companies like pulsion when aligning intelligent machines with recognised ISO standards and secure development frameworks.

Applying good practice in software engineering ensures robotics systems remain safe, scalable and reliable under real world conditions. [Read more…] about Software Development AI Robotics: Engineering Intelligent Machines for the Real World

Apptronik nears $1 billion in funding with $520 million extension to Series A round

February 12, 2026 by Sam Francis

AI-powered robotics company Apptronik has closed a $520 million Series A-X funding round, with participation from existing investors including B Capital, Google, Mercedes-Benz and PEAK6, and new investors including AT&T Ventures and John Deere.

The Series A-X extension round follows a $415 million oversubscribed initial Series A raise in 2025, bringing Apptronik’s total Series A to more than $935 million and total capital raised to nearly $1 billion.

After the initial Series A announcement, Apptronik continued to receive substantial inbound investor interest, leading the company to open the new extension of its Series A at a 3x multiple of the Series A valuation, underscoring strong investor confidence in Apptronik’s vision for AI-powered robots that support people in every facet of life. Interview with Reframe Systems CEO: ‘We’re developing a robotics and vision platform to unlock automation’

February 10, 2026 by Sam Francis

As the construction sector grapples with stubborn labor shortages, rising costs, and mounting pressure to deliver housing at scale, a new class of automation companies is emerging that promises to reshape how homes are built.

One of the most intriguing among them is Reframe Systems, a technology company that blends industrial robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing to automate large chunks of the construction process that have long resisted mechanization.

Founded on the conviction that real-world productivity gains require more than isolated bricklaying robots or simple material movers, Reframe describes its approach as “physical AI” for construction – applying robotics and automation within controlled factory environments to deliver repeatable, high-quality building components at scale. ABB showcases the future of lab automation at SLAS 2026

February 9, 2026 by Sam Francis

ABB Robotics is demonstrating what it describes as “the next leap in automated laboratory workflows”, showcasing how AI-powered, Autonomous Versatile Robotics (AVRTM) can deliver higher throughput, improved reproducibility and seamless multi-vendor connectivity.

ABB Robotics is at Booth #2027 at the ongoing Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) 2026 International Conference & Exhibition, February 7-11 at the Thomas Michael Menino Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston.

Jose-Manuel Collados, service robotics product line manager at ABB Robotics, says: “Laboratories worldwide are moving from isolated automation pilots to fully connected, AI-ready operations. [Read more…] about ABB showcases the future of lab automation at SLAS 2026

R3 Robotics secures €20 million to scale automated disassembly of electric vehicle systems

February 6, 2026 by Sam Francis

R3 Robotics (formerly Circu Li-ion) has announced €20 million in combined financing to industrialize automated disassembly of electric vehicle systems at scale.

The company has raised €14 million in Series A funding, co-led by HG Ventures and Suma Capital, with participation from Oetker Collection KG, the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund), and existing shareholders including BonVenture, FlixFounders, and EIT Urban Mobility, alongside €6 million in European grants.

The funding coincides with the company’s rebranding from Circu Li-ion to R3 Robotics and a clear expansion of scope: from battery disassembly to automated dismantling of complete electric vehicle systems, including e-drives, power electronics, and other high-value components. How robotics is becoming a branch of AI

December 4, 2025 by David Edwards

For most of the modern industrial era, the hierarchy of automation was simple.

  • Automation meant machines reliably performing fixed routines.
  • Robotics was a sophisticated subset of automation – programmable machinery with sensors, motors and a defined task.
  • Artificial intelligence was something entirely separate: a software discipline concerned with logic, reasoning and learning.

But the boundaries that made sense for the last 50 years no longer describe the technologies emerging now. Robots are beginning to perceive, classify, and adapt. AI systems are leaving screens and entering machines. And a new phrase – physical AI – is gaining ground as researchers try to explain what happens when intelligence takes a physical form. Interview with CEO of Ebots: ‘Combining human-like dexterity with machine-level precision’

November 27, 2025 by David Edwards

The reshoring of manufacturing in the United States has intensified over the past few years, driven by supply chain shocks, geopolitical tensions and the growing economic pressure on companies to bring production closer to home.

Yet one challenge continues to frustrate even the best-intentioned reshoring plans: precision manufacturing still relies heavily on skilled manual labour, and the talent pipeline is shrinking faster than new facilities can hire.

Into this environment steps Zheng Xu, co-founder and CEO of Ebots, a newly launched robotics and AI company aiming to bridge that gap. [Read more…] about Interview with CEO of Ebots: ‘Combining human-like dexterity with machine-level precision’

Agility Robotics’ Digit humanoid passes 100,000-tote milestone in live GXO implementation

November 24, 2025 by David Edwards

Agility Robotics says its humanoid robot, Digit, has moved more than 100,000 totes in commercial operation at GXO Logistics’ facility in Flowery Branch, Georgia – a milestone the company describes as evidence of real industrial throughput rather than laboratory testing.

The company says the achievement reflects the growing need for scalable automation in logistics as operators face rising volumes and persistent labour shortages.

Agility has long argued that humanoids must prove reliability across thousands of cycles before they can be considered viable tools rather than novelty machines. [Read more…] about Agility Robotics’ Digit humanoid passes 100,000-tote milestone in live GXO implementation
