Dassault Systèmes and Kuka partner to boost robotics and automation efficiency for manufacturers

Dassault Systèmes has agreed a partnership with the industrial automation and robotics company Kuka to provide manufacturing industries with comprehensive solutions that meet growing demands in robotics and automation.

Under the terms of the agreement, Dassault Systèmes is joining mosaixx, Kuka’s digital ecosystem for industrial software solutions, offering Kuka customers an easy way to purchase and use Dassault Systèmes’ 3DExperience platform and applications.

Nvidia to manufacture its AI supercomputers in the US for the first time

Nvidia says it will manufacture its AI supercomputers in the United States for the first time, working with a network of partners to expand domestic production and strengthen its supply chain.

The company has commissioned more than a million square feet of manufacturing space in Arizona and Texas to support the initiative.

Production of Nvidia’s latest Blackwell chips is already under way at TSMC’s facilities in Phoenix, while supercomputers based on the new chips will be assembled and tested at new facilities being developed in Texas. Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), the continent’s largest bottling partner of the Coca-Cola Company, has announced a $14.9 million investment in a new high-tech production line at its facility in Lilongwe, Malawi.

The upgrade, implemented through its local subsidiary Coca-Cola Beverages Malawi (CCBM), significantly boosts the company’s production capacity.

Semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales surge to $117 billion

Worldwide sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment increased 10 percent to $117.1 billion in 2024 from $106.3 billion in 2023, according to a report by SEMI, the industry association representing the global electronics design and manufacturing supply chain.

BMW installs 294 robots in major upgrade of factory in Germany

Chef Robotics raises $43 million in Series A funding

Chef Robotics has raised $43.1 million in new Series A funding, which includes $20.6 million in equity and $22.5 million in equipment financing debt. The latter will be used to cover the financing of Chef’s robotic systems for Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) so Chef’s customers don’t have to front capex for their robots.

The equity round was led by Avataar Ventures and included investments from Construct Capital, Bloomberg Beta, Promus Ventures, MFV Partners, Interwoven Ventures, HCVC, MaC Venture Capital, Red and Blue Ventures, Tau Partners, Alumni Ventures, Siddhi Capital, and BOLD Capital Partners.
