Bezos explores $100 billion AI-driven investment in US manufacturing, reports say

Jeff Bezos is reportedly exploring plans to raise as much as $100 billion to acquire and modernize manufacturing companies using artificial intelligence, according to multiple media reports.

The proposal, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, would focus on buying established but underperforming industrial businesses and applying AI-driven operational improvements to increase efficiency and output.

Toyota expands US manufacturing with up to $10 billion investment and unveils new $912 million hybrid-production boost

Toyota is significantly expanding its manufacturing footprint in the United States, announcing up to $10 billion in additional investment over the next five years, alongside a newly disclosed $912 million allocation to boost hybrid-vehicle production across five US plants.

The second investment is part of – and included within – the larger package announced earlier in November.

Toyota Motor Corporation said the up to $10 billion commitment will “bring the company’s total US investment to nearly $60 billion since beginning operations in the US nearly 70 years ago”. Dover to invest $20 million to expand manufacturing operations in Virginia

Dover Food Retail, a part of Dover Corporation and a manufacturer of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and refrigerated display cases, says it will invest over $20 million to expand its Virginia operations.

The company says it plans to do this by relocating its Anthony brand manufacturing from Sylmar, California, to its Virginia campus, which is projected to create more than 300 new jobs over the next year.

The investment will expand on its current production with skilled workers manufacturing a wide range of commercial glass refrigerators and freezer doors and frames, utilizing cutting-edge technology to meet the demanding specifications of food retail customers across North America and worldwide. Energy company Carrier to invest additional $1 billion in US manufacturing

Carrier Global, a provider of intelligent climate and energy solutions, has revealed plans to invest an additional $1 billion over five years in US manufacturing, innovation and workforce expansion.

Carrier says the investment is “incremental to its ongoing commitments to American operations”, and is expected to create 4,000 highly skilled jobs in R&D, manufacturing and field service.
