Edson unveils robotic system for towel and tissue industry

Edson has unveiled a new robotic top-load case packer aimed at small to midsized companies that manufacture a variety of SKUs within the away-from-home towel and tissue industry.

Edson’s new 4000TL-Robotic will be debuting the new 4000TL-Robotic on March 16-18 in booth D10 at Tissue World Miami.

Applied Automation Technologies wins software contract with leading aircraft manufacturer

Applied Automation Technologies has secured what it describes as “a major software contract” with a leading North American aircraft manufacturer.

The agreement involves the integration of AAT’s CAPPSNC software to directly interface with controllers on large CNC machines to provide dimensional metrology data for CMM reports, adaptive work offsets, and adaptive tool offsets for 3-5 axis closed-loop manufacturing.

ATI Industrial Automation is releasing a new standard tool changing option for smaller robots.

The QC-29 Robotic Tool Changer brings the powerful and rugged technology of ATI’s Heavy Duty Tool Changers to robots in the 25-35 kg payload class.

Hardinge acquires Ohio Tool Works

Hardinge and Ohio Tool Works have completed a definitive agreement under which Hardinge has acquired OTW.

Hardinge says the deal enhances its machine tool and workholding portfolio with “an attractive platform of high precision honing machines, tooling and abrasives”.

Hexagon launches ‘world’s first’ wireless laser scanner

Hexagon’s manufacturing intelligence division has launched what it claims is “the world’s first wireless laser scanner” designed specifically to work inside computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines.

The cutting-edge scanner allows for data to be efficiently, accurately and securely transmitted wirelessly, which improves production quality.

Hexagon’s new integrated wireless laser scanner, the m&h LS-R-4.8, does not require traditional touch probes and captures around 40,000 measurement points a second to provide information about the complete part, compared to the status quo of taking individual points with traditional touch probes. Texas university students win $10,000 SICK challenge

For the third year, SICK invited students from universities around the country to participate in the TiM$10K Challenge. The challenge started in 2018 to support innovation and student achievement in automation and technology.
