Hexxabotics to unveil honeycomb-based AS/RS with shuttle-style AMRs at LogiMAT

March 23, 2026 by Sam Francis

Hexxabotics is preparing to unveil a new automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) at LogiMAT 2026, combining autonomous mobile robots with a high-density, hexagonal storage architecture. (See video below.)

The system, described by the company as a “next-gen” AS/RS, is built around a modular honeycomb structure designed to maximize cubic storage density while maintaining accessibility across the grid.

At the core of the system are mobile robots – referred to as “Hexxabots” – that operate within the structure, effectively combining the roles of shuttle and autonomous mobile robot. [Read more…] about Hexxabotics to unveil honeycomb-based AS/RS with shuttle-style AMRs at LogiMAT

Corvus Robotics installs ‘fully autonomous’ drone-based inventory system at Dermalogica global headquarters

March 13, 2026 by Sam Francis

Corvus Robotics has installed of its Corvus One autonomous inventory management system at Dermalogica’s global headquarters and primary distribution center in Carson, California. The facility manufactures and distributes professional-grade skincare products to retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels worldwide.

Operating live inside the Dermalogica warehouse, the Corvus One drone system performs fully autonomous aerial inventory scans outside of active picking hours. The system images the warehouse 52 times per year, representing a 600 percent increase in inventory imaging frequency compared to prior manual cycle counting processes.

Before deployment, inventory counting required a dedicated cycle counter and could take up to two months to complete a full pass through the facility. With Corvus One, Dermalogica has repurposed approximately 120 labor hours per month, reallocating that time to higher-value operational work. Perspective from Zebra Technologies: Pocket automation – the pragmatic path to a resilient supply chain in 2026

March 4, 2026 by David Edwards

By Andre Luecht, global strategy lead – transport and logistics at Zebra Technologies

While full-site automation grabs headlines, the most decisive trend involves targeted, scalable investments that empower frontline workers, build resilience, and perfect the all-important final customer touchpoint.

Discussions about the future of manufacturing and logistics often conjure images of vast, lights-out facilities operating with near-total autonomy. While these visions capture the imagination, the practical path forward for most organizations in 2026 looks quite different.

Faced with persistent economic uncertainty and intense cost pressures, leaders find themselves questioning the wisdom of massive, high-risk capital expenditures. The real, decisive trend shaping our industry lies not in monolithic, top-down automation but in a more pragmatic, ground-up approach: “pocket automation”. 5 Best Warehouse Management Systems for 3PLs

February 19, 2026 by David Edwards

Running a third-party logistics operation means juggling multiple clients, complex billing structures, tight SLAs, and constant pressure to grow – all at the same time. A generic warehouse management system wasn’t built for that kind of complexity.

What separates a 3PL-specific WMS from standard warehouse software comes down to a few things: multi-client architecture, automated client billing, and customer-facing portals that give your clients real-time visibility into their inventory.

That’s why choosing the right WMS matters so much for 3PLs. The wrong system creates manual work, slows down client onboarding, and turns billing into a weekly headache. The right one becomes the operational backbone that lets you take on new business with confidence. [Read more…] about 5 Best Warehouse Management Systems for 3PLs
