e-con Systems launches IP67 rugged GMSL2 camera for industrial applications

e-con Systems, an embedded camera solutions company, has launched its STURDeCAM20 industrial grade GMSL camera and STURDeCAM20_CUXVR camera kit leveraging the powerful capabilities of the Nvidia Jetson edge AI platform.

The new offerings accelerate time to market for customers developing and deploying ruggedized applications for industrial and outdoor environments such as autonomous mobile robots, delivery robots, sidewalk robots, blind spot cameras for large vehicles, mining vehicles, forklifts, surround view systems, and more.

Continental building supercomputer on Nvidia platform to use for vehicle AI

Continental is building a supercomputer based on the Nvidia computing platform. The system is intended for vehicle artificial intelligence system training.

The two companies say they are building the high-performance cluster based on Nvidia DGX AI systems, adding that this will “boost autonomous driving development performance”.

Mercedes-Benz and Nvidia partner to build ‘smartphones on wheels’

Automotive giant Mercedes-Benz and chipmaker Nvidia have agreed a significant, wide-ranging and long-term partnership designed to build what they are describing as “smartphones on wheels”. (See video below.)

Nvidia, which already has a leading position in the automotive market, says it is building the chips and supercomputers that the new Mercs will require.

Nvidia offers glimpse into Silicon Valley simulator in the cloud used for autonomous car development

As much of the world continues to conduct business from home, Nvidia’s autonomous test vehicles are hard at work in the cloud. (See video below.)

During the GTC 2020 keynote, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang demonstrated how Nvidia Drive technology is being developed and tested in simulation.

While physical testing is temporarily paused, the cloud-based Nvidia Drive Constellation platform makes it possible to dispatch virtual vehicles in virtual environments to continue making great progress in self-driving technology. BMW selects Nvidia to ‘redefine factory logistics’

Automotive factories to incorporate artificial intelligence robots built on new Isaac platform from Nvidia

BMW Group has selected the new Nvidia Isaac robotics platform to enhance its automotive factories – utilizing logistics robots built on advanced AI computing and visualization technologies, the companies announced today.

The collaboration centers on implementing an end-to-end system based on Nvidia technologies – from training and testing through to deployment – with robots developed using one software architecture, running on Nvidia’s open Isaac robotics platform.

GTC Digital is Nvidia’s training, research and insights resource and enables direct access to the company’s experts at the GPU Technology Conference.

Xpeng Motor build new autonomous e-car on Nvidia computing platform

Xpeng Motors, a Chinese electric vehicle and technology company, says its P7 smart electric sports sedan officially rolls out in China on April 27.

The Xpeng P7 features the Nvidia Drive AGX Xavier platform for its XPilot3.0.
