Forvia increases logistics productivity with fleet of MiR robots

Forvia, a top-tier automotive technology supplier, says it has increased its logistics productivity, strengthened stability of production processes and decreased safety risks with a fleet of robots robots from Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR).

The return of investment from the 14 autonomous mobile robots working in the Faurecia Clean Mobility plant in Písek, Czech Republic was less than two years.

Seven of Forvia’s heavy duty MiR robots, mainly MiR600s, work in the area of finished goods, bringing empty pallets to the assembly lines and picking up full pallets to transport to the logistics area. [Read more…] about Forvia increases logistics productivity with fleet of MiR robots

French logistics robotics specialist Scallog accelerates expansion in Germany

French logistics robotics specialist Scallog says it is accelerating its development and expansion in Germany with a view to becoming one of the leading companies in the sector.

Scallog has signed an agreement with Xproma, a recognized expert in robotics and intralogistics at the service of optimization and logistics performance. Scallog says the deal will help establish its presence in Germany, which represents a quarter of the European logistics market.

GXO expands partnership with Robotic Assistance Devices to enhance safety and security

GXO Logistics, one of the world’s largest contract logistics companies, is expanding its technology partnership with Robotic Assistance Devices, a subsidiary of Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions.

GXO is developing advanced security solutions with RAD to improve the safety and efficiency of its customers’ logistics operations.

Swisslog delivers third AutoStore for Neoperl in China

Swisslog has built the third AutoStore system for Neoperl, after the previous two facilities in Switzerland and Italy.

The Neoperl Group is an international company with globally oriented production and sales locations. Its product portfolio includes highly standardized components for the manufacture of sanitary products, such as bath and kitchen faucets, showers, fittings, water filters, water meters and valves. Neoperl acts primarily as a supplier to the sanitary industry.

DHL opens its largest fully automated robotic fulfillment center in Germany

DHL Supply Chain, the contract logistics specialist of Deutsche Post DHL Group, is now operating a fully-automated robot picking system at a logistics center in the Lower Saxon municipality of Staufenberg for an important long-time customer, Peek & Cloppenburg, an international chain of department stores from Germany.

The system, AutoStore, is made by robot specialist Element Logic and covers 6,000 square meters, making it one of the largest fully-automated storage and order fulfillment systems in Germany.

It’s located in one of the five halls at the location, each of which offers 10,000 square meters of space and 50 loading bays. Apptronik and Terex to jointly develop robots for commercial use

Apptronik, a maker of general-purpose robots, exoskeletons and humanoids, has received an equity investment from Terex Corporation and has reached an agreement with Terex to co-develop “first-of-a-kind robots” to work alongside workers to support safety, productivity, and efficiency of industries that power the economy and are essential to building infrastructure.

Robots have long held the promise of solving labor shortages and productivity issues, but until recently have been limited to performing repetitive tasks within structured environments such as warehouses or factories.

UPS and Gap units partner to offer ‘unmatched automation and supply chain capabilities’ to apparel merchants

Two business units from within logistics giant UPS and famous retail brand GAP are combining their expertise to offer “unmatched automation and supply chain capabilities” to apparel and footwear merchants.

The companies say their new offering will enable mall and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to benefit from capabilities “previously only available to billion-dollar brands”.

Ware2Go, a UPS company, is collaborating with Gap’s GPS Platform Services division that combines Gap’s global supply chain network, customer insights, technical, and digital capabilities with Ware2Go’s cutting-edge supply chain technology. ASI and SICK optimize and automate logistics truck yard operations

ASI Logistics and SICK Sensor Intelligence say they have achieved another milestone in the development of autonomous yard truck operations.

Together, the two companies have “solved the issue of reversing into trailers autonomously”. This is one of the final steps in completing fully autonomous yard operations.

Forvia increases logistics productivity with fleet of MiR robots

Forvia, an automotive technology company, says it has increased its logistics productivity, strengthened stability of production processes and decreased safety risks with a fleet of robots from Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR).

The return of investment from the 14 autonomous mobile robots (AMR) working in the Faurecia Clean Mobility plant in Písek, Czech Republic, was less than two years.

Seven of Forvia’s heavy duty MiR robots, mainly MiR600s, work in finished goods, bringing empty pallets to the assembly lines and picking up full pallets to transport to the logistics area. The second area, where MiR250 robots operate, moves components from the warehouse to assembly lines. The robots in the plant work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, covering all three operation shifts. Locus launches new system for optimizing e-commerce delivery schedules
