Pitney Bowes ‘strengthening’ automation across its entire logistics network

Pitney Bowes, a global shipping and mailing company that provides technology, logistics, and financial services, says it is strengthening its domestic parcels network and service.

Pitney Bowes, a company with a long history of innovation, is leveraging a number of emerging technologies, including automated parcel sortation equipment and robotics to efficiently enable on-time deliveries, and process consumer returns for ecommerce brands and retailers.

Maersk and iB Cargo install Dexory’s robotics and AI technology in Bucharest distribution centre

Dexory says its partnership with international shipping line Maersk is expanding into the Maersk and iB Cargo managed site in Romania, a distribution centre for a top home furnishing brand globally.

The Bucharest deployment is the first of many outside of the UK to go live with the innovative technology, as part of the company’s expansion across Europe.

Logistics company reduces workers’ walking time by 40 percent with Zebra robots

Zebra Technologies automation systems have reduced the time workers walk to complete a task by “40 percent” at the JAS Contract Logistics Super Hub.

Zebra, a specialist provider of supply chain automation technologies, says logistics company JAS Worldwide selected Zebra’s Robotics Automation solution to drive efficiency in its fulfillment operations.

Fernride raises $50 million in Series A funding to scale autonomous yard trucking

Germany-based autonomous trucking innovator Fernride has closed a further $19 million in its Series A funding, pushing the total round amount to $50 million.

Dexterity releases new version of robotic palletizing software

Dexterity, a developer of software for warehouse robots, has unveiled the 3.0 release of its Palletizing and Depalletizing software (PDP) aimed at unlocking pallet operations in the warehouse.

With a slate of new features aimed at improving throughput, reducing installation and integration time and cost, and increasing flexibility of performance, PDP 3.0 makes pallet loading and unloading effortless for third-party logistics (3PL) providers, retailers, apparel manufacturers, and other material handlers.

CEVA Logistics adds 57 Exotec Skypod robots to two of its logistics centres

CEVA Logistics is expanding warehouse automation in its two warehouses in Venray, Netherlands, thanks to the Skypod System from Exotec, a France-based warehouse robotics specialist.

The flexible goods-to-person order picking solution will enhance facility efficiency, and during peak seasons, CEVA expects to handle three times the volumes than before.

The two facilities join an existing Exotec Skypod installation at CEVA’s facility in Roosendaal. 57 Skypod robots are being deployed at the Venray facilities to add warehouse automation for CEVA’s customers, ultimately increasing both warehouse capacity and flexibility to bridge peak periods.
