SICK and Aeva partner to bring 4D LiDAR to industrial sensing applications

Aeva, a leader in next-generation sensing and perception systems, and SICK announced a strategic multi-year collaboration to bring Aeva’s Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) 4D LiDAR to a variety of industrial sensing applications including long-range sensing, starting with Aeries II.

Dr Niels Syassen, member of the board responsible for technology and digitization at SICK, says: “We are pleased to partner with Aeva and work closely together to bring its FMCW technology to high performance industrial sensing applications.

Miso Robotics partners with Amazon to test robots at scale

Miso Robotics, which builds robotic solutions for the restaurant industry, is working with Amazon Web Services to begin testing the software powering its Flippy 2 and Flippy Lite robots using AWS RoboMaker.

The move to AWS RoboMaker is projected to allow Miso to run up to fifty simulations at once and will help the company turn future prototypes into functional products at a much quicker rate.

Yamaha Motor Ventures leads $7.5 million funding round for Verge Ag

Siemens partners with Pasqal to research quantum applications in computer aided engineering, simulation and testing

Pasqal, a company which develops neutral atom-based quantum computing, has reached a multi-year research agreement with Siemens Digital Industries Software to advance the field of quantum computational multiphysics simulation.

Siemens is a global leader in the field of computer-aided engineering. Pasqal’s proprietary quantum methods to solve complex nonlinear differential equations are expected to enhance the performance of Siemens’ software solutions which are used for computer aided product design and testing in amongst others the automotive, electronics, energy and aerospace sectors.

TinyMobileRobots celebrates marking 1 millionth sports field

Denmark-based TinyMobileRobots, a provider of fully autonomous GPS line-marking robots, has officially marked its 1 millionth sports field, culminating in “savings of approximately 1.6 million hours, $102.5 million and 1.5 million gallons of paint” for its rapidly growing customer base across three continents.

The landmark moment occurred in Dallas, Texas with FC Dallas, who manages 20 soccer fields. They have been using TinyMobileRobots’ solution for four years.

RE2 Robotics partners with JLG Industries to build robotic elevation platforms

ExcelsiusGPS robotic system used for brain surgery

Christus Health has become the first health provider to use a robotic system for brain surgery, describing the ExcelsiusGPS as “a world-class robotic guidance and navigation system”.

The ExcelsiusGPS system, built by Globus Medical, was used in the first Christus Ochsner Health case this week, setting a new standard for robotic neurosurgery procedures in Southwest Louisiana.
