SeqSense shows how it built autonomous security robots on AWS

April 9, 2023 by Mai Tao Leave a Comment

Japanese robotics startup SeqSense has built autonomous security robots using Amazon Web Services and Amazon’s platform for robotics

According to Japan’s national institute of population and social security research, the working population in Japan is expected to decrease by 30 percent in the next 30 years. A rapidly aging population in Japan causes a shortage of labor in the security space.

SeqSense, a robotics startup company in Japan, aims to solve this challenge by providing autonomous security robot service. They developed an intelligent security robot SQ-2. that patrols inside buildings.

It navigates by itself using pre-created map of a floor, patrol multiple floors by communicating with elevators. Their robot has been deployed in more than 30 office buildings, shopping malls, and airports in Japan. [Read more…] about SeqSense shows how it built autonomous security robots on AWS

Miso Robotics partners with Amazon to test robots at scale

June 15, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Miso Robotics, which builds robotic solutions for the restaurant industry, is working with Amazon Web Services to begin testing the software powering its Flippy 2 and Flippy Lite robots using AWS RoboMaker.

The move to AWS RoboMaker is projected to allow Miso to run up to fifty simulations at once and will help the company turn future prototypes into functional products at a much quicker rate.

Chris Kruger, CTO of Miso Robotics, says: “Integrating into AWS RoboMaker has been a gamechanger for us to scale our products and make sure the software and its updates are ready to deploy with units in the field. [Read more…] about Miso Robotics partners with Amazon to test robots at scale

Amazon looks to accelerate emergence of innovative robotics startups

December 14, 2021 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

By Grace Reed, product marketing manager for AWS RoboMaker, and Pulkit Kapur, business development manager for robotics and autonomous systems at AWS

Helping startups succeed, from inception to IPO, has been an integral part of Amazon Web Services since its beginning. Today, more startups build on AWS than any other cloud provider, and many of its customers started using AWS at an early stage to help scale their business and drive innovation.

For example, Lunar Outpost, a pioneer in lunar surface robotics, uses AWS RoboMaker to test and validate robotics software in a simulated lunar environment, enabling them to speed up robot delivery and reduce software bugs in deployment.

In this blog post, we discuss how AWS Robotics is helping robotics startups use cloud technology to establish a scalable infrastructure for building, testing, and managing robots. [Read more…] about Amazon looks to accelerate emergence of innovative robotics startups
