Generalist AI raises $400 million to scale robot intelligence platform

June 5, 2026 by Sam Francis

Generalist AI, a startup developing foundation models for robotics, has raised $400 million in new funding as it seeks to accelerate the development of what it calls “physical AGI” – artificial general intelligence capable of operating in the physical world through robots.

The funding round values the company at approximately $2 billion and brings its total capital raised to more than $500 million.

The round was led by Radical Ventures, with participation from 8VC, Union Square Ventures, Hanabi Capital and Norwest. Existing investors including Nvidia’s NVentures, Boldstart Ventures, Spark Capital, Bezos Expeditions and NFDG also participated. Safety Beyond the Pavement: Lighting and Traction for Dangerous Terrains

June 1, 2026 by Sam Francis

The track looked fine at midday. By 5 pm, the light had dropped behind the ridge, the surface had changed from packed dirt to loose shale, and the headlights were showing maybe thirty meters of trail ahead, not enough to react to what came next. Nobody plans for that moment. Most builds aren’t ready for it either. [Read more…] about Safety Beyond the Pavement: Lighting and Traction for Dangerous Terrains

Tennant deepens Brain Corp partnership to accelerate robotic cleaning push and product rollout

April 15, 2026 by David Edwards

Tennant Company has announced a “significant evolution” in its long-standing relationship with Brain Corp, signing a three-year exclusivity extension for next-generation robotic floor care, accelerating new product development with plans to release 10 new products within 24 months, and simplifying the customer buying experience.

Together, these actions support the growth of Tennant’s strategic focus on robotic cleaning and reinforce the company’s commitment to build its autonomous equipment portfolio into a $250 million business by 2028.

This evolution builds on the formation of the Tennant Company Robotics team, a dedicated venture that consolidates resources across sales, research and development, product management, customer success, and technical support into a single, vertically integrated organization focused exclusively on robotics. Segway Navimow expands robotic mower lineup for 2026

January 28, 2026 by Sam Francis

Segway Navimow expanded its robotic lawn mower portfolio earlier this month, unveiling five new product series aimed at both residential and commercial lawn care applications.

The new 2026 lineup comprises the X4 Series, i2 AWD Series, i2 LiDAR, H2 Series, and Terranox Series, covering lawn sizes ranging from small residential plots to large commercial properties.

According to the company, the new models were designed to simplify installation by eliminating perimeter wires and reference stations, relying instead on a combination of network RTK, vision systems, and solid-state LiDAR for navigation.
