Kawasaki demonstrates unmanned cargo transport system which combines an aircraft and a mobile wheeled robot

January 17, 2022 by Mai Tao

Kawasaki Heavy Industries says it has successfully completed proof-of-concept (PoC) testing for an unmanned cargo transport system. (See video below.)

The system combines Kawasaki’s K-Racer-X1 prototype unmanned vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft and what is commonly described in the industry as an autonomous mobile robot, and which the company describes as a “delivery robot”.

Kawasaki says the PoC testing was conducted with the aim of helping to solve societal issues such as labor shortages in the logistics industry. [Read more…] about Kawasaki demonstrates unmanned cargo transport system which combines an aircraft and a mobile wheeled robot

Kivnon’s AGV ROI Calculation Starts on Product Delivery Date

January 17, 2022 by Mark Allinson

By Mike Kotzian, managing director, Kivnon USA

Modex 2022 in Atlanta March 28-31 will feature many AGV vendors who cannot deliver product this year. Too much emphasis has been placed on features, advantages, and benefits; too little attention has been paid to delivery dates.

AGV vendors must promise a delivery date with a guarantee not to exceed 180 days from purchase order to delivery. Failing to provide that commitment is unacceptable.

Solving the immediate challenges in production by delivering product by Q3 2022 and mitigating the hiring constraints plaguing industries must be the top priorities. The current state of the supply chain has exacerbated the situation. [Read more…] about Kivnon’s AGV ROI Calculation Starts on Product Delivery Date

2022 Healthtech Forecast: Record-Breaking Technology Expansion

January 12, 2022 by David Edwards

Artificial intelligence (AI) research has become one of the most active areas in computer science, with an expectation that AI will help to solve many problems in healthcare.

The use of AI technology in healthcare is poised to dramatically improve medicine over the next few years as researchers find new ways to integrate it into patient care and clinical operations.

In 2021, WHO issued its first report on Artificial Intelligence in health. The report is the result of 2 years of consultations held by a panel of experts. [Read more…] about 2022 Healthtech Forecast: Record-Breaking Technology Expansion

January 12, 2022 by Mark Allinson

The best way to prepare for the future is to predict it. While it may not be feasible to define the future perfectly, it’s possible through study, research, and scientifically guided forecasts to learn the recurring patterns that influence how work is done and develop plans around those expected plans.

Several studies are being conducted to decipher and grasp what the future of work will look like in 2022 and beyond.

Considering how rapidly things change in our world today, industries need to get even with the various workplace innovations that are shaping the industry and trends to emerge in 2022.

Currently, there are tools, software, and platforms that make digital work easier. There are also code-compliant, prefabricated industrial stairs, and it’s only a matter of time before other innovations are implemented.

Interview: Energy Systems Network CEO Paul Mitchell talks about the future of cars and Indy Autonomous Challenge

January 10, 2022 by Mark Allinson

It’s been a while since we wrote up an interview, mainly because they take a long time to transcribe and edit into a readable article. And we’re not yet a large enough website to devote time to doing that because there are many other stories that would have to wait while we’re busy doing that.

However, the subject of electric vehicles and EV charging networks are important technologies that literally millions of people have been reading about on this website, and we think they will find this interview interesting.

The interview is with Paul Mitchell, president and CEO of Energy Systems Network, a US-based nonprofit which could be described as a kind of public-private partnership with the aim of discovering and commercialising technologies that provide a platform for the continued healthy growth of the entire clean-energy future of moving machines – cars and other road-going vehicles in particular, but possibly even marine vessels and other types of craft such as drones and maybe even planes.
