Oversonic Robotics agrees strategic partnership with NantWorks and opens new LA office

Oversonic Robotics, an Italian company specializing in cognitive humanoid robotics, has agreed a strategic partnership in the United States with NantWorks, alongside the opening of a new Los Angeles office.

The announcement was made during the inaugural US-Saudi Biotech Alliance Summit, held in conjunction with the 44th Annual JPMorgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco.

Global humanoid robot installations reach 16,000 units as commercial deployments accelerate

The global humanoid robot market moved closer to large-scale commercialization in 2025, with installations reaching an estimated 16,000 units worldwide, according to new data from Counterpoint Research.

China accounted for more than 80 percent of all humanoid robot installations during the year, underlining the country’s dominant role in early deployments. Adoption was driven primarily by use cases in logistics, manufacturing, automotive, research, and data collection, the research firm said. Dürr installs paint shop for ‘first’ Saudi automotive company

Dürr is building an innovative and sustainable paint shop for CEER, the first Saudi automotive company and Saudi-born electric vehicle brand.

The order was placed back in 2023, and the project is currently in the installation phase. Automated guided vehicles will transport car bodies flexibly between stations based on demand in the modular system.

The latest application technology paints the interiors and exteriors of electric vehicles in the same box. In addition, there will be a box for fully automatic two-tone application without overspray. High-tech and sustainability go hand in hand.

Dürr supplies the latest generation of ovens which, combined with electric exhaust air purification systems, save energy and reduce CO2 emissions. Robotics startup Botsync secures additional Series A funding from SGInnovate

Botsync, a Singapore-based robotics automation company specializing in autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and vendor-agnostic automation orchestration, has received additional funding from SGInnovate as part of its extended Series A round.

This new investment further strengthens Botsync’s position as one of the fastest-growing robotics players in Asia, enabling the company to enhance product R&D and ramp up deployments for existing customers.

New US robot safety rules focus on how robots are actually used on the factory floor

A long-awaited update to US robot safety guidance is now complete, with the release of a new section that shifts attention from robot design to how industrial robots are used day to day.

The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) has announced the availability of Part 3 of the ANSI/A3 R15.06-2025 robot safety standard, rounding out a three-part framework that defines safety requirements for industrial robots and robot systems in the United States.

PlusAI moves closer to public listing as autonomous truck merger clears key regulatory step

Autonomous trucking software company Plus Automation has moved a step closer to becoming a publicly listed company after US regulators approved a key filing linked to its proposed merger with a special purpose acquisition company.

PlusAI said its registration statement connected to the planned business combination with Churchill Capital Corp IX was declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 12, 2026.

The approval clears the way for Churchill Capital Corp IX to hold a shareholder vote on the deal. Exotec expands partnership with Renault at warehouse in Germany

Exotec, a provider of warehouse robotics, is equipping Renault Deutschland, the France-headquartered car manufacturer, with its Skypod system to modernize its logistics capabilities at its Brühl site.

Starting in 2026, Renault plans to supply car dealers across Germany with spare parts for its models, using an automated warehouse in the country for the first time.

Following the successful deployment of Renault’s French site in Villeroy last year, the warehouse robotics specialist is now equipping Renault Group in Germany with its Skypod system within their new, 258,000 square foot automated warehouse. Locus Robotics and Radial surpass 25 million picks milestone
