Automation and the workplace: 3 Ways robotics will transform the workplace as we know it

September 18, 2021 by Liv

In a recent research released by Garner, it is revealed that 2 in 10 retailers will establish a robot resource center to oversee their non-human workers by 2025.

This comes as no surprise since the world has been gearing up for a robotic first future for quite a while. Globally, the robotics industry is expected to reach USD 74.1 billion by 2026- a compound annual growth rate of 17.45 percent from 2021.

Over 50 percent of US companies said they are planning to increase their investment in automation within the next few years, spurred on by the ongoing pandemic. [Read more…] about Automation and the workplace: 3 Ways robotics will transform the workplace as we know it

EPHJ trade show returns to bring together industrial high precision in Geneva

September 7, 2021 by David Edwards

After a somewhat “sterile” year in 2020 due to the Covid-related restrictions, the EPHJ Trade Show has done everything to ensure that this 2021 edition, initially postponed for some months, can now be held in the best possible conditions, given the wider public-health backdrop.

This year, the Trade Show will host more than 500 exhibitors at Palexpo. Large numbers of Swiss and international visitors, mainly from neighbouring countries, have already signed up. From small SMEs to sizeable multinationals, no one wants to miss this “return to normal”.

“The convivial and friendly spirit at the EPHJ Trade Show is one of the main factors behind its success”, explains Alexandre Catton, Director of the Trade Show. “Everyone really wants to meet up, reconnect with each other, smile at one other without a screen, have a drink with their clients and do some face to face business.” [Read more…] about EPHJ trade show returns to bring together industrial high precision in Geneva

Advanced driver assistance systems market projected to reach $60 billion by 2026

September 7, 2021 by David Edwards

The advanced driver assistance system market is likely to exceed a valuation of $60 billion by the end of 2026, according to a research report by Global Market Insights.

Growing number of research and development activities centered on integrating technologies like AI to enhance passenger safety is stimulating the development of new ADAS systems.

The advanced driver assistance systems form an integral and intelligent cog of the automobile interiors. These systems assist the main driver in ample ways by providing them the vital information about traffic, roadblock, congestion levels, suggested routes, and others. RC Mowers exceeds sales projections for its robotic mowers

September 2, 2021 by David Edwards

RC Mowers, makers of remote-operated robotic mowers, believes there is nothing like seeing its mowers in-person and in-action to convince prospects they need one.

The sales team has been traveling on an extensive “Great American Road Show” all over the US to meet commercial landscapers, public works departments, city, county, state and federal park systems, and city, county and state road departments.

The response and related sales of RC Mowers remote-operated robotic mowers, which are for mowing steep slopes, difficult terrain and other hazardous landscapes, has been “tremendous”, says the company. The commercial mower market is estimated to be a $4 billion industry. [Read more…] about RC Mowers exceeds sales projections for its robotic mowers

Specialist ‘robotics-as-a-service’ startup lets manufacturers ‘hire’ popular robots at ‘low hourly rate’

September 1, 2021 by David Edwards

A new robotics-as-a-service company Formic Technologies has launched with a simple value proposition: hire fully customized robots from top vendors at a “low hourly rate and no upfront cost”.

To help small and medium-size manufacturers benefit from automation, Formic handles every aspect of a financing and implementation – from scoping, engineering, purchasing, implementation, and maintenance. The company also guarantees uptime, with customers paying nothing for system downtime.

Traditionally, manufacturers buy robots, which is a lengthy, complex, inflexible, and expensive process. These barriers to entry are so high for smaller manufacturers that they often refrain from implementing automation altogether. Ocean engineers optimize design and performance of autonomous underwater vehicle

September 1, 2021 by David Edwards

Almost two years ago, Dive Technologies, a subsea robotics designer and manufacturer based in Boston, began a multiyear partnership with researchers and students at the Center for Marine Autonomy and Robotics to develop a novel commercial autonomous underwater vehicle.

In April 2021, Dive Technologies delivered the DIVE-LD to market, a design they see as the most capable large-displacement autonomous underwater vehicle, in terms of the reliability, endurance, and navigational accuracy it brings to global commercial and defense customers.

With the first round of sea trials of their craft complete, the DIVE-LD’s performance has already exceeded expectations, but the team behind the self-propelled, unmanned, untethered underwater vehicle is driven to take it even further. They’re now back in the lab, working diligently to refine the vehicle’s software systems and optimize hydrodynamic performance. New entry-level 3D camera: The ultra-compact Ensenso S10 is universally applicable and cost-effective

Industrial camera manufacturer IDS Imaging Development Systems has introduced the Ensenso S, saying the new device shows that the use of industrial-grade 3D technology does not have to be expensive.

The 3D camera is particularly suitable for 3D applications that require budget-friendly, easy-to-integrate and industrial-grade camera technology.

The new Ensenso S10 has an ultra-compact, IP65/67-protected housing and generates 3D data using laser point triangulation, supported by artificial intelligence. This makes the camera suitable for a wide range of applications – and delivers robust 3D information even in low ambient light.
