Skyline Robotics unveils ‘world’s first high-rise window-cleaning robot’ Ozmo

Skyline Robotics has unveiled “the future of window cleaning” with Ozmo, describing it as the “world’s first high-rise window-cleaning robot”, and investors are taking notice. (See video below.)

The company has closed a successful pre-Series A funding round led by Standard Industries with contributions from Karcher New Venture and Gefen Capital.

Skyline will use the funding across a variety of business operations including expanding its New York City team, as well as continued product development and new capabilities to own the facade operations of the future. Upward Farms launches first organic vertical farm in the US Northeast

Upward Farms, an aquaponics vertical farming company, has opened its new headquarters in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York.

The innovative new facility – which is Upward Farms’ first – utilizes the company’s next generation technology in both commercial production and research and development.

ABB robots ring in the holiday season at Bloomingdale’s iconic New York flagship store

A dozen ABB robots were on hand this week to ring in the holiday season at Bloomingdale’s iconic New York flagship store. (See video below.)

Described by ABB as the “next step in human robot collaboration”, the robots were seen trimming trees, and entertaining shoppers with holiday tunes and karaoke.

Finger Lakes college partners with New Scale Robotics to develop collaborative robot tools

Finger Lakes Community College has been awarded a $50,000 manufacturing grant from the FuzeHub Innovation Fund to support its work with New Scale Robotics, accelerating development of New Scale’s precision measurement and gripping tools for a wide range of collaborative robots.

New Scale has a line of precision grippers, calipers and other tools that install in minutes on cobots from Universal Robots.

New Scale will collaborate with Dr Sam Samanta, head of the Instrumentation and Controls program at FLCC, and his students to develop a Smart Platform that expands plug-and-play compatibility of New Scale Robotics tools to multiple additional cobot brands.
