Boston Dynamics and FieldAI partner to bring robots into construction and other complex, dynamic environments

March 13, 2026 by Sam Francis

Boston Dynamics and FieldAI announced a partnership to advance robotics in construction and other complex, ever-changing environments.

The collaboration combines Boston Dynamics’ world-class robotic platforms and software stack with FieldAI’s Field Foundation Models (FFMs) for uncharted exploration, extending autonomous operations into spaces previously considered too unpredictable for robots.

One example is construction, where sites are constantly evolving, with shifting terrain, changing layouts, and active human workflows. These highly dynamic conditions have long made it difficult for traditionally programmed robots to operate safely and effectively. The Best AI Motion Graphics Generators That Are Actually Worth Your Time

March 12, 2026 by Sam Francis

Video content isn’t optional anymore. Whether you’re launching a product, growing a brand, or trying to stand out on social media, motion graphics have become the fastest way to grab attention and hold it.

The problem? Traditional motion graphics production is expensive and slow. Hiring a freelancer or agency can cost thousands per video. Learning After Effects takes months. And even if you have the skills, manually keyframing animations eats hours you could spend building your actual product or business.

AI is changing that equation fast. A growing number of tools now let you turn a text prompt, script, or blog post into polished animated video without touching a timeline or hunting for stock footage. [Read more…] about The Best AI Motion Graphics Generators That Are Actually Worth Your Time

Challenges in bipedal locomotion, dexterous manipulation and power efficiency

March 12, 2026 by David Edwards

A look at the key technical hurdles in creating truly functional humanoid robots

Humanoid robots have returned to the center of the robotics conversation. After decades as largely experimental machines confined to laboratories and research demonstrations, they are now attracting serious investment and industrial interest.

Companies such as Tesla, Figure AI, Agility Robotics, and Boston Dynamics are developing humanoid platforms intended not simply as research prototypes but as commercial products capable of working in warehouses, factories, and other industrial environments.

The appeal of humanoid robots is easy to understand. Much of the world’s infrastructure – from doorways and staircases to tools and shelving systems – has been designed for the human body. A robot with roughly human proportions could theoretically operate in those environments without requiring extensive redesign of the workplace. Ai2 claims breakthrough in training robots entirely in simulation

March 12, 2026 by David Edwards

The Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Ai2) says it has achieved a milestone in robotics by demonstrating that robots trained entirely in simulation can perform tasks in the real world without additional training or real-world demonstrations.

The result challenges a long-held assumption in robotics that systems trained in virtual environments must still be fine-tuned with physical robot data before they can operate reliably in real environments.

According to Ai2, its researchers showed that sufficiently large and diverse simulated training environments can produce robot control models capable of transferring directly to real machines – a concept known as “zero-shot sim-to-real transfer”. MIT CTL and Mecalux develop an AI-based simulator to optimise inventory across warehouses

March 12, 2026 by David Edwards

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Transportation & Logistics and Mecalux have developed an artificial intelligence-based simulator capable of optimising inventory distribution across different warehouses within the same logistics network.

The platform, called Genetic Evaluation & Simulation for Inventory Strategy (Genesis), uses advanced machine learning models to analyse thousands of possible scenarios and determine the optimal stock level at each warehouse and when replenishment should occur.

The AI-based simulator takes into account variables such as forecast demand in each region, transport costs and the operational capacity of each warehouse to test various inventory replenishment policies without affecting real-world operations.
